Purwien und Kowa - Hinter Glas

Purwien und Kowa have written their latest release- Hinter Glas, and it is the sharpest and most striking number yet. The duo have been active since the 80s, and in their own words, they have not seen much success, which is true. Their music jolts you out of the current pop landscape's monotonous slumber. Sticking to the German stereotype, they have given us modern art through their music, a genre of their own. Contemporary disco is this newfound genre that they operate from. Their music is proof that you don’t need to understand German to like their music! It's biting, it's fresh, and still has a sense of retro to it. The track is a collage of juxtapositions! It's fun and artsy, in a way that compromises on the art. It’s modern and chic while also being retro and upbeat! They have mastered the synth pop genre; it has turned into a playground where we are all left watching them play with the beat from one side of the court to another. The way they command your attention is unlike any other artist/band. They allow for their techno beats to have character that does not back away from taking centre stage and owning it. We can almost picture Count Dracula or Frankenstein’s monster having a moment under the disco ball for this number. Much like Frankenstein’s monster, Purwien und Kowa is a mixture of an anatomy, giving us a beast of a soundtrack!
