Jonny Gems - Last Night
Jonny Gems reels it back and gives us this dewy diamond-studded track- Last Night, a pop-rap track at its finest. This Canadian poet-turned-rapper sure knows how to slip in the medicine with a little bit of sugar. The rapper has some of the sweetest verses I have ever seen. With rap as a genre being under the limelight for various reasons at the moment, it's nice to have a rap number to relax and groove to. The singer already has followers across the globe, making his music universal. While Jonny has an eye for detail and perfection, he really doesn’t take himself seriously, allowing us to also let loose as much as him. Easing us into his world of fun and excitement. Last night has its rhythm and rhyme. The track has an interesting touch of Jazz to it as well, making Jonny’s verses as smooth and spontaneous as the genre. Jonny laces his delivery with a large portion of rizz, filling the room with personality and talent like no other. His delivery is a mix of Lil Wayne and Usher. The Scary Movie franchise easily takes the cake with some of the best writing out there. Scary Movie 2 specifically has a cult of its own. Last Night would work so well in some of the Ray and Brenda scenes. Jonny Gems has some of the sharpest verses out there, best be careful, as his writings can leave you with a paper cut.
