Notre Dame De La Colline - Le Chant Du Fracas
There are a few torchbearers of music who lull the troubled souls at ease and to rest, and Notre Dame De La Colline is one such collective. Their latest release, Le Chant Du Fracas, is one such number that will just hold you in your place. The France-based artists have a unique exploration when it comes to music; they have a sense of movement and flow to the sounds they imagine. They trust the intelligence of the audience and do not indulge in spoon-feeding them. Their latest release, Le Chant Du Fracas, is a new approach to their music. This one, unlike most of their previous releases, has vocals but not in any sort of flashy way at all. They have spoken word that encapsulates the thought of a lot of strong people who are actually truly afraid. There is a strange sort of waiting in life; you are waiting to fall in love, to receive love, rest, and kindness… nothing is ever guaranteed. You just wait as the pendulum of life and time swings about, and in between the oscillation we find joy and strangely life. The track is patient; it never rushes into anything. The music acts as a sedative; you can feel the song envelope you with every chime and key. This innate ability of the musicians to dissolve time between notes is similar to what Frances Ha does with the narrative as well. The production on this song is outstanding; every note is placed with great detail and is in no rush. It’s as if the sole job of Notre Dame De La Colline on earth is to just create music. Each sound is stitched together with the same integrity and diligence as a bee owes to the flowers.
