Very few songs have the ability to encapsulate a whole era in a song, but Where The Light Comes In by Brandon Archer does exactly that. Unlike most artists and storytellers, Brandon does not rely on conflict, particularly because the song is the definition of vibes in the best way possible. Everything about the song demands that we look at life from a new perspective. I have never heard nostalgia packed so enticingly in a number that asks us to have hope for the future. Brandon has the ability to go from micro to macro real quick; it's a rush of sounds that create a lush soundscape where R&B meets cinematic beats. You are met with vibrant imagery that is stimulated by the music; he seems to have seamlessly blended retro and church choir sensibilities. The vocals only add to the listening experience. The velvety vocals allow the imagination to slide into a musical world filled with sunshine that can't help but seep into even the darkest of days. The track is the perfect start to a day, the kind of song that makes you want to open up the curtains and welcome a new day full of new possibilities. Funnily, it can be the outro in Practical Magic, especially now that Practical Magic 2 has just been released. It’s not often that you come across artists who can produce retro R&B as phenomenally with their own flair for the genre. The lush sounds by Brandon Archer in this new release allow the notes to linger and share real estate in our hearts and heads.
