Emerald Park-We Wasted All Our Memories
Emerald Park want to keep you guessing. That’s what the collective has come to offer, with their idiosyncratic song that spans genres and tastes like an old radio. Their latest single is an exciting reflection into what makes their music individually theirs. This is called, We Wasted All Our Memories. There is this great contrast musicians make with their music. The melody in this song is euphoric and joyous. It is exciting, has some great harmonies and layers going on that can be deciphered from a few listens. The title of the track, however, seems to be a contrast of that. It is that R.E.M. kind of feel that makes them so unique and reminiscent in their style. Though it is personal, it seems like a common thread that weaves itself through everyone's lives. Their 2011 EP Reality Bites seems to be a long ways away, but there is an essence that is retained. Emerald Park will always be this band that puts in detailed effort in all their songs. The band from Malmo, Sweden, seem to have peeled back the layers to show us what their songs are always like, memorable sections that become a part of your journey. Singer-Songwriter Tobias has put in a lot of work making Emerald Park the pocket of repose it is. This particular song would be perfect in The Perks of Being a Wallflower (2012). You can check out more music from this band on their Spotify, and make sure you follow them for more!
