Cam Wilson - The Time

If there is an album that embodies the golden hour, that is The Time by Cam Wilson with his soft honey butter voice. He makes it clear, it is him and his guitar up against the world. The album is a short listen but it certainly doesn't mean that the tracks are lacking. Nay nay, it adds to the momentary feeling of solitude that Cam brings into our life through his music. In fact, this also makes the album that much more memorable, his music stays with us long after the stop button is hit. Time with Cam Wilson The key element of the album is what welcomes us into his world with Time. Cam knows how to hold the moment and we hear this right at the top of this song. We hear what can only be described as the sound of the sky in the beginning. He gives us a picture even before any note is uttered by him or his guitar. This track is everything, he sings about time in general. How important it is to use it wisely and yet see the beauty of not being a slave to it as well. How sweetly, the guitar carries us away as if we fly away atop our magic dandelion flowers.  Forever Dreaming  The track begins with the synthesized guitar that feels like it is pulling us into a dreamscape in. What the production team has succeeded in is creating a dreamscape with nothing but his guitar and him in Forever Dreaming. There are moments when you hear ambient sounds that immerse us deeper and deeper into Cam’s world. And when you hear him say “And I’ve been waiting so far for my Street.” he validates all our thoughts and questions about home. Are we ever home or is life the never-ending quest for home? Best Of It By the time we get to Best Of It Cam has us going through a plethora of emotions, all this in less than 12 minutes. It feels like he is biding adieu to something here, it could be something particular or everything. It could be about love, family and friendship. Either way, this track leaves us with this warm sense of goodbye and a new chapter that is ripe for picking.  It almost feels like he leaves us with some hope, much like what Greta Gerwig leaves us with in Frances. The way this film feels like a warm bowl of soup on a rough day is truly immaculate. She heals all our silent, open and attention-seeking wounds with this story. I would say that Cam Wilson does the same as well here. So, if your soul needs a bowl of soup, i suggest that you click on the link above and nurture it with Cam Wilson.
