Roman Angelos-Tropical Nites

The rich imagery Roman Angelos gives you is unique in its charm. It is the obsession of multi-instrumentalist and producer Rich Bennett, who uses this as a carrier of passion. From film scores to noir pockets of tone, there is a lot to unpack in his music. The dramatic escapades are lined up for us this time, with an extensive collection. This is his latest album, Tropical Nites.  For the sake of this album, imagine the protagonist traversing a biosphere alone. From their experiences to the kind of emotions they are feeling, Roman Angelos goes into the ambience and metaphysical. His opening single called Motorbike Journey is something we obsessed over when it was released. It has the simplicity of the character traversing open land, in an almost psychedelic melody. The use of tones is incredible, a xylophone bounce adding to the mirth of the moment. The second single is Regretful Echoes, having a melancholic spine. The song studies a lot of layers together, composing a reverie unlike any other. His use of natural percussions adds a warm, human touch to the entire affair.  Bringing colour to scenes If you were to get into the mind of a spy, the tones and study change to this noir essence. From spy comedies to the 007 hits we know, the arrangement is a dead ringer to bring together such scenes. The mystery is alluded to with the melodies chosen, and the experience is contained with no words said. To revert to the ambience and aura around, the next single is the name of the album. It brings in similar tones, but the pace and rhythm changes the theme very well. Roman Angelos brings the theme in detail, with attention to specifics and soothing, memorable melodies.  Bella in Nighttown is the funky, groovy samba reverb you needed. The masterful use of hand percussion brings in the idea with great intent, and selective imagery. Only a skilled and virtuosic composer like Roman Angelos can make this happen with a minimal air of scenic understanding around. Breezeway is the soothing essence of a season, captured by tone. As we progress to Lady of Singapore, he brings a funky groove back. This is to show suave and style, as it is so mapped in our minds. Using the spine of tropes we might have witnessed in cinema and TV, Roman Angelos is the future of thematic music, tuned to the detail.  A soft drink session and stories to tell ends this beautiful album. Not only have you heard some of the deftest composition parts, but it comes from someone who can detail his sound well. You can check out his music on his Spotify and follow him for more exciting music. The album is embedded above for you to have some Tropical Nites!
