Juliet Callahan-Ghost Girl
3 h : 6 min

Juliet Callahan has taken the pedestal in hip-hop/alt-rock based pop. Not only are her vocals unique and polished, but they are defined and command the narrative. Quickly becoming her most popular single, Ghost Girl is at the top for all the right reasons. With mixing perfection and execution, the throne was always hers to claim. Using resounding bass to offset her charmingly melodic pipes, she sings about being present while appearing absent. Ghost Girl shows Juliet Callahan exercise her silky smooth voice for the verses and chorus. The trap beat is perfect for the way she sings the lyrics-trying to purpose the mood and theme. Faintly in the background, you can hear impressive string work-such that nothing is taken away from the lyrics yet a lot is added to the atmosphere. This is where Juliet Callahan shines, creating a ghost town for this ghost she sings about. The apparition is from the inside, and she’s just beginning her ascension to being more than a somebody. The bridge is a stylish alternate route, making a prismoid view of this dimensional being she has created with song.  From Atomic Blonde to Lucy, I could see blockbuster action films make this the title track for the lead. Taking control, this track also indulges in tone quite often to create this enveloping sense of sonic origami. Juliet Callahan can be explored with her superb singles like Numb, Burning and Typical. Explore her shifts through sound like an expert with her singles and her being featured on Top 50s and 100s of many playlists. Listen to her badass tracks now!

Ruiz!-The Human Touch
3 h : 32 min

Ruiz! is more than a one-man band. He creates songs with a soul and embodiment like no other, especially understanding the composition. As he floats through genres like a butterfly, he likes to bring something new every time to what he is making. Here is his melodic lament, crafted to perfection. This is his latest single, The Human Touch. There is a lot to unpack here, as a song. Not only does Ruiz! bring something unique to the table in terms of sound, but it is in each parcel of it. His vocals shift from his chest voice to a falsetto with the flick of a switch. As the rhythm teaches, he learns, alternating his percussions to this delicious off time fill before coming back as the spine. His instrumentals tread light, letting the vocals shine but taking the reins every once in a while. The effort he puts into production sees the picture as a whole, with someone who understands and feels this message. It has a duality, the human touch with music, and related to the clusterfuck that was Covid. I would have really enjoyed seeing this song featured in Her, or the Netflix series Black Mirror. As the malady of the lost human touch is talked about, I see us straying deeper into the cold metal claws of technology, forgetting our primal instincts and feelings. You can see Ruiz! and his brilliant work in songs like One Rule and Falling. This single belongs right up there, and it is in effect to affect. Enjoy his brilliant songwriting and crafting with his catalogue!

AnnaBella-Liar, Liar
2 h : 36 min

AnnaBella is a duo you won’t find very often. A songwriter duo of a vintage doll, Anna and the singer/performer Bella, who have a symbiotic relationship in music. The doll writes, the singer performs. This results in a volatile combination of hard rock and voluminous guitar sounds. This is the latest single from this duo, Liar, Liar. There is more than a hint of contempt from AnnaBella. The truth can be evaded, but only for so long. They wait for judgement day, with hands clasped in joy. This is a rock song that brings slowly burns into the chorus, and is a rocking one. The chords strike hard and relinquish, trying every effect to bring in the drama for the lyrical push. The verse section has some simple, luring electric guitar groove. The drums help in leading the track to the punch of the chorus, the bridge almost reminiscent of a choir. The hook is in the chorus, brimming with the energy necessary to power the track through. The production allows the kick to be felt, not only heard. I would definitely chart this for the biography for AnnaBella. This is an interesting tale that would have an intriguing story, and the scene almost looks too perfect. As the guilty is traced, you see these masterminds cackling with joy. You can hear this intense combo in their other singles like Homewrecker & Replaced. They are just getting started, and we can’t wait to see where they go. Till then enjoy their single and watch your back!

Luke Frees-Moonshine Queen
6 h : 22 min

In the end, he is the crypt keeper of his portal. Luke Frees is no ordinary artist, and so his music isn’t ordinary. Drawing from formal music education and a mind that actively seeks inspiration and is creating constantly, his songs have a magic touch. Escaping mediocrity or naturally gifted, I don’t know how he arrives at his compositions. Sometimes I wish he didn’t either. This is his latest single, Moonshine Queen. I could see a progression like that being beaten to death. What makes it exclusively Luke Frees’ product is the execution. With a titillating rhythm and percussion section, he elevates the quality and style of the song by several spectrums. You can trace Nick Cave influences, even though the soul and energy is a youthful, contemporary artists. His dissonant vocals explore a baritone register that is like the voice of conscience. With the lyrics, he speaks truths that delve further into it. If it is infatuation, it is the right kind-understanding the emotion stemming from this elusive figure. It is enchanting to hear the layered strings with the exciting drums and percussion. The guitar flourishes accent the tension of the chorus, and amplify the underlying emotion. His vocal choices in certain pockets are straight out of the dark, unique and stylish. Progressions continually keep you hooked and lead you into well crafted niches of sound. The waves guide you to different tributaries, each exploring Luke Frees as an individual and musician. I could definitely see this work in Blonde, the Marilyn Monroe story adaptation. As a Peaky Blinders fan, I have episodes in mind where this song could work as well. It is an incredible musical journey, and has to be experienced in full, like any Luke Frees song. Listen to his music and follow him for more incredible tracks!

J. Fur-Man from Oslo
6 h : 14 min

Excellent house music, has to be discovered. Songs that get maximum airplay are formulaic. The emotion and extending the moment is what house music is proficient at. J. Fur is exploring the art behind the best, the essence and where the sound can take you. With exploratory beats and flowing soundscapes, this man’s sound can take you places you’ve never been. This is his latest single, Man from Oslo. If you’ve never been to Oslo, like me, let these words paint you a picture. It is an economic hub, the governmental core. Flourishing with swanky buildings, languishing with people wanting to explore more about themselves. This is why J. Fur has absolutely nailed the title of this track. The mystery within the tune, the slight transitions and the steady beat-all boil towards this broth. I can only imagine the image of this city, being reflected on an office-goer, who has so many other layers to show. Yet, he is lost within this same facade. I might be miles away from the artist's original interpretation, but that’s where this art becomes beautiful. The crayon melting colours within the song leading from one verse to another, spaced out like the buildings on the street. You can imagine the landscape with the soundscape, and that requires a depth and understanding of the genre you create with. I could imagine scenes from John Wick and Trainspotting. The spatial exploration done by J. Fur can also be heard in tracks like El Cielo Estrellado and his brilliant Las Ramblas album, from 2020. So strap in, and enjoy a trip like none other.

Angelina Luzi-Silent Moon
3 h : 53 min

You can sing, but who are you singing for? Angelina Luzi is an artist who sings for the soul. Not only hers, but others as well. Her enchanting voice and myriad soundscapes with dense imagery spliced in between, each audio journey is a treat. Her latest track serenades an enigma that dominates the night sky. This one is called Silent Moon. With a rhythm section that is just as beautiful as the crater crusted saucer that glows in the sky, you’re entranced from the very beginning. Angelina Luzi has her gentle vocals directed towards this magnanimous orb of luminescence. Her lyrics are especially gorgeous, weaving through the tales and triumphs of what the moon portrays and makes you feel. The heart wants what it wants, sometimes it wants Angelina Luzi’s voice to take control of your conscience. Her official music video is mesmerizing, with the colour tones and moon's silhouette orbiting the story. It is breathtaking to see the the images melt into each other, synced to her vocals. The images of sorcery and ritual praise the silent moon in snippets, while creating a dense layer of prismatic images-all leading to the same place. Stills with her vocal range stretching is incredible to hear, while this song becomes a favourite in terms of audio and video. I could picture this song in First Man, and this is a style that fits Hurwitz’s resume. Angelina can really hold your breath with her voice, and songs like Fight Your Skin and Let It Go show her generous vocal range. Follow her for more vocal exuberance and swimming, rich instrumentals that take you places. For now, visit this silent moon.

DaeMarcus - Take It Back
43 h : 56 min

The latest album from DaeMarcus, 'Take It Back', is a stunning and immersive work of art that showcases the artist's talent for creating atmospheric and dream-pop music. Drawing influences from post and lo-fi genres, DaeMarcus has crafted a mellow and introspective pop album that explores complex emotions and experiences through its lush instrumentation and ethereal soundscapes. A worthy tribute to Alternative Indie Pop From the very first track, "Moving Out," the listener is transported into Adam Araujo's world, where introspection and self-discovery are the norms. The track starts with a melodic pad that is soon joined by atmospheric VSTi sounds and lush instrumentation. DaeMarcus's vocals are soft and tender, creating a dreamy ambience that is perfect for the album's mood. Throughout the roughly 44 minutes long album, DaeMarcus explores a variety of themes, including love, loss, and personal growth. The pumping rhythm of the track "Bleed" is haunting and iconic at the same time. The instrumentation is sparse, consisting mainly of a simple piano melody and a steady bassline, reinforced by layers of guitar harmonies. The South Coast Massachusetts-based artist's vocals are emotive, conveying the pain and sadness of the lyrics perfectly. "Live or Die" is another standout track that showcases DaeMarcus's talent for crafting memorable melodies and immersive soundscapes. DaeMarcus's vocals are soft and vulnerable throughout most of the album, never really taking the center stage for too long, conveying the complex emotions of his melancholic music. After his 2022 debut Trials & Errors, the new album is a welcome addition to the producer's discography. DaeMarcus presents a promise to take it back The album's title track, "Take It Back," makes creative use of samples. It is a powerful ballad that encourages the listener to take control of their life and embrace change. The instrumentation is articulate and hints at the musician's command over his creative expression. Also featuring a soaring guitar solo and a variety of VSTi sounds including a gorgeous cello, the sound is reminiscent of bands like Death Cab for Cutie and Cigarettes After Sex. DaeMarcus has successfully created a brilliant piece of art that contributes further to the niche indie alt-pop library. The production quality of 'Take It Back' is reminiscent of indie mixes, giving the album a unique charm that sets it apart from other contemporary pop albums. This album would be perfect for fans of TV series like "DARK" which also draws inspiration from the sci-fi fantasy genre and features experimental ambient soundscapes. In conclusion, 'Take It Back' by DaeMarcus is a must-listen for anyone who loves ambient pop music that explores unique sounds and delves into themes of love, loss, and personal growth. From start to finish, this album is a powerful testament to the transformative power of music and a reflection of DaeMarcus's talent as a singer-songwriter.

Dirty Slippers-Honest Kid
3 h : 30 min

Dirty Slippers have a multilingual, dramatic approach to their music. You can never quite put a finger on what they’re planning, and their music is as diverse as the cultures they represent. With great success coming from their singles, they release their latest number, Honest kid.  Your unique instrumentals are a mixture of classic rock and this new sound you have found. How did you come about this? We are a 4 piece band and every member has their own influences. When we started working on Honest kid at the Abbey Road Studios, our ideas met and George Shilling (our fantastic producer) knew exactly what we wanted: something huge, energetic and the feeling of an arena show. Bebi Ferenczi (our drummer) really loves Queen's sound, and that's why the drums are really big and wide sounding in the song. I am a huge fan of british indie rock, britpop and beat music, that's the reason behind the vocal style and the guitars. I really love making new music with band members, because I totally believe, if you write songs together and different musical worlds can meet, that's always the best!  Make no mistake, this is how they execute rock. You’ll hear tones, lyrics and compositional sorcery you might have never heard before. If you think you’re a sucker for rhythm changes, this is just a warm-up for this band. You see a tectonic shift in their sound from Közel Hossád, their 2012 album. They’ve been rocking it in many different directions since then, and you’ll be happy taking that musical journey with them. Almost unwittingly, mediocrity escapes their sound, and they settle on progressions and sequences that are rare to the ears. Making of the song  The story of Honest Kid, how did you come about composing a song like this? The song's original idea was born during the covid's first quarantine period. I was really disappointed, because more than 70 shows were cancelled, some of our best friends were ill, and the world was a crazy place then. I sat in my room with my guitars and I started to build my own home studio, which opened a lot of new doors and finally I could start thinking about a lot more of the songwriting things. When a band is in a professional studio, everything happens really quick and sometimes you don't have enough time to try new ideas and small tricks, which could take the song on a next level. During the covid, we only had a lot of time, nothing else :) So, I just sat with my guitar on the bed and wrote the song in a few hours. The next day, Rita Bodrogkozy, our vocalist, just came to me and we wrote the lyrics and recorded it. We were full of negative stories, bad things and Honest kid was our shout to the sky! Our fans were really loyal, we had great messages, when we worked on this song and we chatted with a few of them about the topic and the lyrics, and they absolutely loved it. "Rendetlen gyerek", Honest kid's hungarian version is our most famous song so far with more than 318.000 Youtube streams. We are really thankful, because our fans were with us "online" during the covid. Navigating the hit 3) With Rendetlen gyerek, did you know that people have definitely connected with your kind of sound? To be honest, I didn't think this song would be our Number 1. A good friend of mine and our drummer, Bebi said first, that's a better song, what I thought about that, so they said to me: Lazar, this song is great, why don't you make a video clip for it suddenly? I did it and it was released in January of 2021, and a lot of new people started to follow us. If you make a heart-felt song about the people's feelings and they think the same as you, that builds a bridge between the listeners and you.  If you’re listening to this after mainstream pop, you’ll hear the subtleties in the way they perform, along with the raw magnetism of their lyrics and notation. The guitar flourishes, especially during the chorus, are magnificent-collating something of a unique plate of sound for all music fans alike! They might not know it yet, but Dirty Slippers have fans born out of every one of their songs.  Dirty Slippers-Their multilingual approach You've made songs that connect with English music listeners, as well as stayed true to your roots. Are there things that get lost in translation? We are in a very lucky position, as we can work with a great English lyricist friend. Of course, George Shilling also provides us with good advice regarding each part of the lyrics, so the final version is usually polished in the studio to the best version, so that it is as close as possible to the original Hungarian version. Of course, specifically Hungarian locations, such as the view of Lake Balaton or the Tihany church hill, are not translated directly, but we refer to them to the extent that a similar image appears when listening to the song. What is next for your band? Do we see an album coming out soon? We have a lot of plans for this year! We will have a concert in Guildford on 17th of March with two great bands: Marseille and Modern Guilt. After our debut in the UK, we will shoot a video clip for Honest kid and do some shows in Hungary. Our new Hungarian album "Vársz Valahol" will be released very soon and after that our first, full length English language album will be released in the second half of the year. We are always dreaming bigger and bigger and hope everything will come true! This song would fit great in Cloverfield, for the drama, passion and lucid lyrical flow. Not only does this band know how to put on a good show, but they understand the passion within the lyrics, with their instruments. They have great singles like Rendetlen gyerek and Magány ès èn. Follow Dirty Slippers for more great music!

Anto Dust - Black City
3 h : 19 min

The latest single by Anto Dust, "Black City" is a mesmerizing blend of indie pop and psychedelic music that is sure to captivate listeners. Led by the talented Antonella Cossu, the London-based five-piece band has once again proven their ability to create hauntingly beautiful music that transports you to another world. The song's production quality is reminiscent of a movie's soundtrack, thanks to the 'cinematic influences' and the fact that it was composed for a short film. The atmospheric details in the mix complement the songwriting direction of the band and create a dreamlike soundscape that is both ethereal and grounded. The vocals by Cossu and Tomos Eames are hauntingly beautiful and perfectly complement the melancholic melody. Their music has been compared to the beauty of ‘Spooky’ era 4AD shoegaze legends Lush and Melody's Echo Chamber. With a beatific and euphoric side, Anto Dust effortlessly pulls towards the heavens and a certain strain of psychedelia. In addition to being described as a slice of pristine, otherworldly beauty, the band's debut single, "1955," has been praised by Q Magazine for its ability to sound like what it must be like to go to a church service on Atlantis. Anto Dust creates music that is otherworldly "Black City" would be a perfect fit for a movie or TV series with a dark and brooding atmosphere. It could easily find a place in shows like "Dark," or movies like "Black Swan" where the haunting melody and ambient production would add an extra layer of depth to the story. Overall, "Black City" is a stunning addition to the already impressive discography of Anto Dust. With this latest release, the band continues to push the boundaries of dream pop, creating music that is both otherworldly and deeply emotional. It's clear that Anto Dust is a band to look out for in the London indie music scene, and we can't wait to see what they have in store for us next.
