Think Sanity-Sad Kaiju-Dark Horse Mix

Think Sanity have restructured themselves like a work of fiction. Their music has a character and tale of its own, and will take you on a fantastic journey as such. We were addicted to the cinematic cocoon their latest single wove, and you have to have a listen, maybe many more. This is called Sad Kaiju-Dark Horse Mix.  The only reference I can make with Kaiju is that of Godzilla. Whichever version you choose. The opening riff that Think Sanity open with sets the tone very well. Like many, many of the Godzilla attempts, you get a backstory in seconds. The muffled, grunge like guitar has that Orange pedal tone that is so elusive. A skater rock energy is diffused, but Andie Johnson channels in the melancholy that is the overarching hue. Raw, real and delivered with well written lyrical prowess. There are background elements, like the “scream” with the lyrical parallel. If you think you could classify this as alt-rock, think again. They are giving you a sonic comic book, with all the drama and interesting pocket stories. This mix is something I leaned to more, if you have heard their original Sad Kaiju. A whole different palette, but the same story. A beautiful world to take wild imagination down to.  The obvious would be to align Think Sanity and their song to a Godzilla movie, but it wouldn’t quite fit. However, the 2011 movie Super 8 would be a great host for this song. Especially the action sequences require a galloping song like this, and the Dark Horse mix fits perfectly. Listen to their single above and follow them for more!
