The Transference-100 Mirrors

The Transference bring music like it's never been explored before. This is an indie band that is showing their salt through music alone, the right way. A blend of multi-instrumentalists, a plethora of dreams, come together in the music they make. Their EP is an exciting touch of retro with what a contemporary band can do outside the box. Here they craft a carnival, for their album is called 100 Mirrors.  There is something about their sound that stands out. From the moment you hit play, the band is taking you on a roller coaster epiphany drive, and it's great.  Let's take Aliens for example. It's the kind of track that uses a tone which is ET-ish in flavour, and nails the rhythm. The synth powered number is like listening to The Pixies for the first time, shocked that this is possible to listen to. As you’re in this joyous melody, the vocals come in after a few bars. Light on the bard, Laura Hollingsworth brings a lot of imagery with her metaphors and visual cinematic cascades.  The aura of Premonitions had to carry its essence in the music. That is exactly what happens in the composition. The Transference relay some beautiful harmonics along with pitch perfect glitter to create a magical song. It is the kind of music that displaces time, for it shifts within the emotive spectrum with the clever lyrics. Mike Przygoda  does some simple and expressive layering to bring power to the rhythm section, lay down by Alex Karan on drums and MJ Johnson on bass. Andrea Santiago plays for the song, the lead guitar as memorable as the vocal lines with perfect intonation.  Like a lullaby, the next single is storytelling sorcery. Holy Smoke has the character melody writing, and unique vocal lines that create that storm of emotion. This is the making of a band that gives you that live performance energy on their EP itself.  The Transference exude chemistry, class and compassion in the songs they write. Positive essence radiates from Afterglow, the kind of song you want as a pick me up after a dull day. This is the exciting diffusion that the band brings with them, and it's rewarding to hear this spectacle explode into the spotlight. Event Horizon has some unique textures working, to make a radio-ready hit. It is funk rock as far as the ears can hear, and is the groove maker for this particular album. Personally, this album would be a great soundtrack for the series Daisy Jones & the Six. Not only do these songs have a lot of character, but the sequences in the 2nd season need this kind of chemistry to detail the scene. Listen to their EP above and follow The Transference for more like this!
