Black Silver- Hood Narrator (feat. Kool G Rap)
There is an art to dismantling the system, and this trio, including Black Silver, does exactly this with his latest release, Hood Narrator (feat. Kool G Rap). The track is a collaboration between Silver, Main Flow, and Kool G Rap. Silver is a man of many hats; he is primarily a producer, songwriter, and rapper. There is a sense of exasperation and anger that all three men bring to the table. They touch upon many social situations in the current world, all without naming names. The track uses the mic as a weapon. Rap as a genre stands out, taking part in an art form typically used to soothe. Here, rap actively opens your eyes and challenges you to question.Production-wise, "Hood Narrators" is minimalist yet effective. The stripped-down beat allows the rhymes to breathe, but it’s punctuated by subtle nuances. Silver and the other two beautiful artists perform the potent words with dexterity and tenacity! This music in its truest form: unfiltered, braggadocious, full of heart and disappointment. The intense opening of the song would fit in painfully well in a film like The Hate U Give. The track is a song that doesn’t invite us to hear it but rather it demands that of us, especially with a killer storyteller instinct that has us hooked constantly. If you appreciate rap with a sense of depth, then Black Silver is your guy! He has a knack for making his listener do beyond listening—to make us feel his words to the bones.
