La Need Machine - I Wish I Could Fly
The latest release- I Wish I Could Fly by La Need Machine has us transported back into the mid and late 2000s with the many key variations the band played. We must appreciate the cover art for this track, it already puts us in the mood to hear the track. The innocence that oozes and gushes out of this number has your heart melting. This track is fairly simple. What makes it unique is the taste of sunlight that fills your mouth as you hear their track. The track starts off all positive and bubbly, almost has us imagining the video ourselves. I see a coming-of-age story and a love story in it as well. Everything about this song screams Y2K. The chord progression, the layering of backup sounds and even the orchestra itself. The duo singing has us thrown into the good times in high school. All this imagery that pops up in our heads as we hear the song is mainly because of the brilliant writing that is present in the songs. The music direction on this track is wonderful and intricate enough for us to catch a lot of it! I can already imagine this track play in whichever interpretation of Princess Diaries that involves EDM. To be honest, the wonderful imagery has us imagining the track in so many moves, specifically in animated films like Shrek.
