Kerrin Connolly-Transitions

Kerrin Connolly has developed their style so quickly, it's almost alarming. Their well crafted music has its own unique fingerprint to every song. You couldn’t ask for any more as an artist. The funky undertones with the vulnerability of a singer-songwriter and themes of the heart is a wonderful experience. This is their latest collection after 2022s EP Don’t Be Afraid. This one is called Transitions.  Take a moment to think about it. Is Kerrin Connolly talking about the transitions in their life. Or in their style of music? Either way, art dictates life, dictates art. From their opening song called Interim, there is a rhythmic play they deliver with their amazing vocal performance. It is the kind of song that you put forward after 2 years of working on your splendid new collection. The next one is called Fingertrap, bringing some good old indie rock from the early 2000s as a sound.  Kerrin Connolly has amazing vocal lines that can bring a whole new flavour to their music. The progressions are unique, you’ll never know which angle they are able to take. The gentle vocal lines are accompanied by softer melodies, all bleeding together to make a perfect concoction. Just when you thought that it's turning too mellow for you, Kerrin brings a rock riff that stands up to your biggest rock magnates taking over radio space right now.  Through music, to grow If Transitions has to be considered, it is like listening to Beastie Boys License to Ill. This is where the world notices, where some choose to gate keep a spectacular artist or the popularity cannot be contained. Kerrin Connolly chooses this opportunity to experiment, reach out and make merry with their music. This is them at the most comfortable in their skin, and they ensure you as a listener are too. With these rising peaks of tempo and complex melody lines which only they can pull off, you’re left speechless. The last song you heard from them was probably No.44 if you listened to their 2022 EP. Since then, Interim is how they chose to greet you, vocals still as brilliant as ever. The style, well, that’s a whole other globe they have traversed with their sound.  However, there are songs like American Psomething which connect back to their style from earlier. Well, the album is called Transitions. However, as a cinematic endeavour, they make something bigger than an episode, smaller than a soundtrack for us. Their album would be a great addition to The Swimmers (2022), a Netflix movie. There is something about Kerrin Connolly’s compositions that makes it feel like a best friend’s secret. It’s yours to keep, but it's so good you feel like sharing it. I suggest you do the latter, and check out their opus above!
