Kelsie Kimberlin - Everything's Better
Kelsie Kimberlin is a modern-day genre cruiser, and with Everything’s Better, she comes at us with no holds barred. Her music ranges from politically conscious to R&B, pop, and now punk pop. The Ukrainian musician-singer believes that her music can bring about change, especially if it is a reflection of reality. Everything about her music is hope-giving, lively, and, all in all, sunshine on Earth. This new release, however, turns the tables a little bit. Looks like Kelsie is tired of the good girl status and has risen to the expectation of every woman ever and said, "Screw expectations!” The track begins soft, like an echo from far away, and Kelsie wastes no time; she sings, “I can do anything you can do better," giving solid competition to Annie from Annie Get Your Gun! The track is almost slow punk rock. She draws out her words, almost taunting her critics. The track has the same energy as "Misery Business." The track feels like there was a rubber band that took in the shock thrown at her, but at some point, it was stretched too far, and it snapped. With the recent release of the article, “Be a bitch, or you’ll develop an autoimmune disease," we can be sure that a lot of great art comes from women. There is a lesser-known series that Shailene Woodley starred in when she was barely an adult, called Secret Life of an American Teenager or even Heathers: The Musical, which would be the perfect series for the song. The series, surprisingly, is accurate in its display of the multi-dimensional teenagers. Kelsie Kimberlin is an enigma of a musician. She never seems to surprise her audience with the range of music she puts out into the world, like a gift that keeps on giving.
