Austin Blyth is ready to deliver refreshing alt rock. His music has that caffeinated edge that has been dissolved away from popular acts. Something that keeps the music raw, yet with a finesse that is a cut above the rest. His single from January is also the closer to Clinging to Her Shadow, his newly released EP. Let’s get into Vow of Silence. Austin has a brilliant chorus section waiting for us. That doesn’t mean he leaves the verse section a paper trail. From the moment you press play, it is a balanced creative riot that creates some amazing balance between his aggressive voice and the distorted guitar wall. His range is amazing, showcasing how dynamics can alter within the same song to create so much drama. The play between synth elements creates a haunting spiral which deserves its own break. The highlight of course remains his voice, changing texture and mood depending on the lyrics and pace of the song. It is an incredible single, and a perfect closing number for his EP. Austin Blyth wants to give that razors edge back to rock, his own way. This would be a perfect song in the movie Nighcrawler (2014). Not only are the lyrics the perfect fit, but many sequences in the movie need this kind of pulse to proceed.
