Anjalts - Dim the Lights
'Anjalts - Dim The Lights' is a soulful, indie-pop, chilltempo ambient track. Singer/Songwriter, multi-instrumentalist & producer, Anjalts's latest release 'Dim The Lights' has a sensory, soft style that leaves the listener relaxed and calm. Akin to feeling through the last moments of the day, it moves with gentleness and grace. There's a genuine softness and empathy expressed, a soft lullaby for reflection, for tired bodies, broken hearts and stressed minds. What makes 'Anjalts - Dim The Lights' special is its restraint & minimal instrumentation - soft guitars, deep basslines, ethereal synths and angelic vocals. The track opens with familiar sounding guitar strums, think Post Malone's 'Circles', setting the tone for relaxtion and unwinding. The track takes smart pauses, allowing the resonance to settle. Reminds the listener of Tame Impala or Hermanos Guiterrez with the twangy guitar sections. Around 3 mins in, the track takes a brave upward spiral, the vocals crescendo higher, inviting a deep connection with the core energy of the track. its a timeless, euphoric feelings as anjalts bravely declares her love. The track ends with the same gentleness making you want to close your eyes and take a deep breath Anjalts soft, tender, unfiltered vocals are a joy to listen. There's something just so calming about her tone of voice. Kind of like watching the soft glow of a lamp, gently illuminating a dark space. Her voice drips with care and sincerity and its reflected in the words too. Lines like - “Let’s just slow dance… it’s the one thing we know we got right.”, convey a soft surrender to what is, in this moment and not trying to hard to fix things. In a time, where issues are over-hyped and amplified, Anjalts takes a more laidback, self-assured stand. She covers themes of love, seperation, sadness and closure with a calm, mindful energy. She isn't afraid to make her voice heard, but instead chooses to express herself with poise and grace. This is a suitable track for late evenings, winding down the day, engaging in recreation and self care. The listener feels that this would be a good score for some of the after-hours scenes from the award winning TV series 'The Bear'. Especially the scenes after the chaotic, brutal restaurant service periods, when the characters are unwinding , licking their wounds and reflecting on life decisions
