Talia Grace - From Under You

I hope you have your armor on because Talia Grace is hell-bent on breaking your heart with her latest release From Under You. The album feels like a personal one, each song has an identity and personality of its own. But they all fall into the themes of love, past, and heartbreak in pop and acoustic format. Her music has this quality that is serene and slow, she makes you feel as though you are floating down a ravine that is making its way down the cracks of a broken heart, cementing it together. Reassuring you that you aren’t alone.  Talia Grace trying not to be The Girl Before the Girl Talia comes in a strong punch to the gut in The Girl Before the Girl. She brings in such vivid imagery with her writing. Talia has a way with her words. With the way she sings, you can feel her look into your eyes as she sings just through her voice. You know of a girl just like the one she describes in this song, you almost want to shake her out of this trance of a relationship. When she says “I’m a heart that you can break while you wait for yours to mend.”, she etches away pieces of your heart little by little.  Smoke Talia has no business having this much power with her words and voice. Smoke is a number that puts in full display her talent of beading words together that paint a forest of sadness. The violin in this track adds a detail that gives off the effect of someone vaporizing slowly in front of your eyes. Smoke particularly speaks of the way a person stays with us even after they are gone physically. The track is the place where broken hearts are robbed of hope, drowning in memories as they gasp for air, trying to claw their way out of this loop of memories they have of their past love.  Greedy Reminders She sings with the same thread of themes in Greedy Reminders. But this time she delves into her past before the past that is filled with lovers. In every track, she gives us a piece of herself. There are a few moments in life that become pivotal, creating core memories that aren’t categorized as positive. But much like a flower that blooms against all odds, Talia leaves us with hope.  The feeling the album leaves us with is similar to the feeling that Rachel Getting Married leaves us with. The film is a masterpiece in terms of storytelling and character arcs. The track feels like a slow burn, a road that leads you down memory lane. This memory lane has most of your past loves, romantic, familial and past versions of oneself. Every sentence squeezes at your heart little by little. So, wait no more to get your hands on some exquisitely conceptualised and produced music. You can listen to more such wonderful tracks by Talia Grace by clicking on the links attached above.
