Jehnniel - Blue Skies

There is a resilience in the music that Jehnniel brings to the table, and this is embodied in every note in her latest release, Blue Skies. She is a Filipino singer-songwriter based in London. As a single mother who moved to the UK to support both her daughter and her music career, she’s clearly been on a journey. She brings all the wisdom in her music, making it an incredibly moving experience to listen to her.  Her music is strikingly on the slow-burn side. She allows for her music to slowly and steadily swell. Slowly taking up spaces in your chest as you listen to her before you know it, her light-as-air vocals fill up every cavity between your bones. The backing is a simple one, yet it brings in a whole bunch of gravity to the number. She plays with extremes when it comes to her vocals; she has a huge range. Her raspy voice has the power to move mountains, and her words have the power to heal hearts. The track is embellished with details in the backing that allow the song to flourish and take flight.  There is a strange deliverance in watching someone transition from a mess to somewhat stable. Sandra Bullock has mastered this in most of her films, but she shines wonderfully in 28 Days. The resilience in that story is moving, and Blue Skies would fit in perfectly in their playlist. Jehnniel is a revolution in art form; her music has the power to heal. If you are keen to know more about this infectious ray of hope, click on the links attached above.
