Gold Frames-Come Back to Me
Welcome to your life Gold Frames, a band from Southend-on-Sea. With catchy rock rhythms that will plague your head for the week, they know they’ve got really great hooks in their songs. Idiosyncratic writing styles push them in a direction that gives them an identity unlike any other indie band out there. Isolation might give birth to genius. This is their latest single, Come Back to Me. A simple swinging chord progression and attention to detail. That is what Gold Frames offer you with their second trip out. Their diversity in music interests gives birth to many nuances you might not notice in the first listen. The riffs bring repeated in the bass and guitar adds more dimension to the verse part as well, while mild echoing synth sounds can be heard as well. The kick during the flying chorus is something else-a band enjoying a jam like it's their last show. The breakdown from the bridge will leave you anticipating a new groove, leading to a cool “solo” section. It is an incredibly written track, the simplicity leads to some great innovation and styles that Gold Frames have developed for themselves now. I’d love to see this song featured in High Fidelity (2000) for its catchy swing and the tone leading you back to that era. The movie's theme fits the song as well, making for an addictive song overall. I enjoyed listening to this as much as their debut, Burning Bridges.
