Frank Song Jr. - Aphrodite
The legend of Orpheus tells us that he had such a beautiful voice that it can resurrect the dead and so can Frank Song Jr. with his latest release- Aphrodite. The track is such a lazy river of a track on the outside. But once you pay attention to the lyrics, it feels as though you are on the world's biggest roller coaster. It feels slow and intimate, owing to the minimal instruments. The track is like a diamond, the track shines only because there is so much technique that is pressed into it. There are portions that will make you get shivers down your spine. We feel this as we hear the section where the violin fades in and just as it fades out, you hear the slightest backing that adds tonnes of layers. The track has brilliant direction/ and production when the voices fade in and rise. This quality can crack open up feelings as large as the sky. The track is an anthem for the hopelessly romantic and single. How can I not mention Frank’s voice? The whisper quality to his delivery adds an intricate layer to the tapestry of the song. I truly feel like this song embodies the spirit of 27 Dresses. Everything about this film is iconic, from the story to the fun song scoring on this project. The track has the potential to crack open the sky and have it swallow the world. This is despite the calm vocal delivery. I insist you look them up on the links attached above and then there is very little stopping you from becoming a fan of Frank Song Jr.!
