Colourshop - Florence

Alfredo, aka Colourshop, has given us the warmest song in Florence, and he seems to have bottled up a sunset in this number. The singer-songwriter has one of the most amusing travel/residence history. He is an Italian-born, South American-rooted storyteller based in London, singing to the world. Fun fact: the track was recorded in Barcelona. This universal singer has given us his latest release, Florence, and it has our hearts fluttering about like a stringless kite on a summer evening, sick in love.  The song has the sweetest waltz-esque cadence that already captures our attention. Alfredo mentions that his musical sensibilities are a mix of his mother's love for ’60s and 70s music and his father's love for sophisticated Italian music. Florence is exactly that. It is as though a moment in history has been frozen and has been poured into a song. You can feel the desire and love radiate from Alfredo’s vocals. The acoustic production of the song is immaculate. This, paired with Alfredo’s patient vocals, is what seals the deal for us listeners to hit the replay button.  Florence is an earnest rendition of yearning. It has the power to break down any wall around your heart with the most gentle instrumental backing. Hacksaw Ridge is a pretty intense film. But there is this moment of lightness and it's when Desmond falls in love with Dorothy. It is the most adorable and impulsive declaration of interest between love interests. Florence would work beautifully in this moment. If you haven’t caught Colourshop yet, what are you doing? Click on the links attached above and let his sepia-tinted vocals take over your imagination and transport you to a whole new world.
