Seafarers-Everything I’d Do (to Get a Hold on You)
Seafarers bring melodies that make your heart sing. Perhaps that is the sign of a collective that expresses through moments. Whether you call it chamber pop or bedroom, the evocative nature touches you immediately. It is a haven, for all those who find company in music. This is their latest single, Everything I’d Do (to Get a Hold on You). It is a masterful song, just by how space is used. Many bedroom pop tracks have the natural habit of filling the ambience. Here, the solitude is understood by the silence. The lyrics have a heavier impact, the song makes you think. Clever employment of the percussion is heartbeat like, it is akin to the long wait. Strokes on the piano punctuate the lyrics with power, as much as they pain you. Seafarers have a unique sound that they create where they think through the music. As a listener, you’re just a part of the process. Reality will grip you harder while you listen to the caving melodies. It is a powerful performance, something that rips your heart and sutures it in one go. Especially the crescendoes are uniquely gripping to listen to. Vocals are the highlight, splicing with the gentle tones to give us something to enriching. Their other single called Bedwetters is another incredible number to enjoy. They will also be releasing their album, Another State, in October 2024. I must also commend the beautiful, minimal and well crafted album art that they compose so well.
