We Are Space Horses-Apologia
37 h : 58 min

We Are Space Horses will be your bovine ride through a parallel dimension. If their music doesn’t give you picturesque wormholes to other universes, take a step back and look again. Psychedelic rock gets a herd of pure-breds that don’t mind galloping off track. Now that the threshold of horse puns is completed, let’s get into their debut album, Apologia.  At the surface, this is rock with a whole lot of imagination. The band is treating the surface tension as something to be tested. Chord progressions will remind you of bands like The Pineapple Thief. Tones are curated to ensure the theme is altered as per the desired effect. To Let Go… Absolutely is the opening single. It leads from a prance to a gallop, although in a measured and calculated sense. Yet, there is nothing that feels more organic than We Are Space Horses. Time signatures alter around this coordinate warp. I was enamoured especially by the unique vocal performance, something that expelled all elements of mediocrity. There is a lucid transition to Absolutely Haunted, after this performance. It must be nothing less than liberating to listen to this live, as captivating as the album is turning out to be.  As rhythms roll into reveries We are in metal territory with the sludge bass riff for Haunt. It has masterful tones aligned-things that Psychedelic Porn Crumpets seem to bank on in their albums. We Are Space Horses know that these dimension jumps are in their control. There is a bluesy spine to the material of this book, and they balance the groove well. Vocals shift from a soft vocal delirium to a harder delivery. Gritty, unmatched in energy-this song has had a prelude unlike any other. From Let Go…, you’re looking at a Pink Floyd transition all the way to Have A Cigar’s riff. God is a Ghost continues the effect, though there is more prog rock embedded in this aura. The lead vocals sound like Steven Wilson’s in Blackfield, yet We Are The Space Horses are scripting their own legacy. I have never wanted to dive into a band’s background of influence this much in many years.  We continue the psychedelia in Ketoacidosis. This is the most “TOOL” level of prog rock we can reach. Time signatures and vocals splice to make a new DNA, one that We Are The Horses would be proud to claim ownership of.  By the time you reach the closer Justification to Build a Monument, you are in this forged planet of dreams and reveries. The band has taken you on a voyage through colours and frequencies you would have never expected. Their music is uniquely theirs, a pulse that cannot be measured by mere comparison. Suspiria(2018) is one movie that immediately appealed to me for this kind of music. You can catch more of this band with music they will surely release soon. This album has all of their best, follow them on Spotify for more!

Rosetta West - Snake 25
5 h : 53 min

"Rosetta West - Snake 25" is an electrifying plunge into a world of mysticism, psychedelia, and raw emotion. From the moment the melancholic arpeggios set the stage, the track evokes an eerie, almost ritualistic energy—like an incantation from another realm. True to the band’s signature blend of blues rock, world folk, and spiritual themes, "Rosetta West - Snake 25" carries a hypnotic tension that lures listeners deeper with each passing second. The haunting vocals, laced with a spectral reverb, crawl under the skin, creating a sense of unease that is both beautiful and unsettling. Around the two-minute mark, the song erupts, seamlessly transitioning from a shadowy, introspective ambiance into a full-throttle, hard-hitting rock anthem. Gritty guitar riffs, earth-shaking percussion, and a wailing vocal surge elevate the track to a state of near-mania—an explosion of primal energy and emotion. The songwriting prowess of Joseph Demagore, backed by bassist Jason X and drummer Nathan Q. Scratch, shines through in Snake 25. Each section of the song unfolds like a gripping chapter in an esoteric tale, packed with cryptic lyrics and gnostic imagery. The band’s underground, independent spirit is fully intact, delivering music that is as unpredictable as it is evocative. This track wouldn’t feel out of place in the dystopian landscapes of Mad Max: Fury Road—a sonic tempest mirroring the film’s high-stakes, otherworldly chaos."Rosetta West - Snake 25" is a thrilling six-minute odyssey that solidifies Rosetta West’s identity as fearless sonic alchemists, crafting music that is both deeply spiritual and viscerally intense.

Andrea Pizzo and the Purple Mice - Transhumanity
43 h : 50 min

Andrea Pizzo and the Purple Mice return with Transhumanity, a bold and imaginative leap into a world where ska rhythms meet classic rock swagger, wrapped in their signature love of electronica. Known for pushing musical boundaries, the band has crafted an album that feels both vintage and visionary—a sonic journey full of curiosity, groove, and philosophical depth. Drawing inspiration from the technological and existential themes that have defined their recent work, Transhumanity is rooted in strong songwriting and a vibrant musical palette. Ska’s syncopated energy pulses through the record’s veins, but it’s the classic rock influence; complete with rich overdrive tones on the guitars and the vintage warmth of tape recorders: that grounds the album in a nostalgic yet modern feel. Subsequently, the result is a unique blend that should resonate with fans of the indie music scene and progressive rock aficionados alike. The album’s production is a highlight in itself. Each track is layered with a vivid dynamic range—from the subtle horns tucked beneath a ska beat to the soaring guitar solos that scream of '80s rock glory. Also, the carefully crafted stereo fieldgives space for each instrument to breathe, creating an immersive listening experience that rewards repeat plays. The analog character of the mix gives the entire project a tactile, lived-in quality that digital production often lacks, evoking old-school vibes without sounding dated. The album would fit perfectly in experimental indie and art rock playlists Noteworthy tracks include "Ada", "Goodbye", "Bombshell", "Hidden Figures", "The Current War", "We Are All Bots", and "To The Space And Beyond"—each continuing the group’s exploration of human identity, innovation, and our place in an increasingly digital universe. Despite the diversity in theme and tempo, the album flows seamlessly, guided by the band’s commitment to conceptual coherence and musical precision. Additionally, our favourite track, “The Ballad of Alan Mathison”, presents a new side of the band's sound with them often infiltrating progressive music territory. It's no stretch to imagine this track fitting perfectly into animated sci-fi films like Next Gen or the emotionally resonant The Mitchells vs. The Machines—projects that blend heart, humor, and high-concept futurism much like this album does. Andrea Pizzo and the Purple Mice have carved a unique niche, combining scientific curiosity with musical storytelling. Rooted in a background of academic research, space exploration, and multidisciplinary arts, Andrea Pizzo leads the band with a vision that’s equal parts intellectual and imaginative. With their new 11-track studio effort: Transhumanity, the group doesn’t just make music—they create alternate realities where melody meets meaning, and the past dances with the future.
