Chandra-Lifted
Your spur of energy will come by listening to Chandra. Here comes an artist who can create a flow of positivity and thought with his lyrics. From the moment I have heard this band, it has been an obvious choice to uplift my spirits. Also why I feel there is an exemplary cinematic construct in his music. This one is called Lifted, and it sure did its job on me. As a band, the chemistry is palpable through and outside the songs as well. This is something very few bands do have in a lifetime. I can almost imagine all of them smiling while recording this. The distorted guitar accompanies the vocals with a percussive chug. Like Chandra mentions, the lyrical forward approach helps spread positivity and the message. The pre-chorus is a like a garland of sound, making a beautiful harmony section as well. The sweet music video becomes another focus, where “home video” styled compositions and personal positivity is shown the spotlight. It is a delightful occurrence, showing how bands can actually appreciate the listeners they have and form a personal connection. You can promise yourself a good time when you sing the chorus and diving into the magical flow. This would be a perfect fit in the movie The Holiday (2006). From the kind of joyous messages it carries to the uplifting, inspirational chorus they have written, Chandra is the band in the spotlight right now. Make sure you follow them on Spotify for more music like this. Listen to the track embedded above and feel lifted!
Chandra - Christmas Hugs
Brace yourselves—Chandra has just dropped Christmas Hugs, and it’s like a glitter explosion of festive cheer straight out of Santa’s workshop. This track is a full-on holiday vibe, wrapping you up in fuzzy warmth like a favorite Christmas sweater you only get to wear once a year (but wish you could rock every day). Christmas Hugs has everything you want in a yuletide anthem: jingly sleigh bells, cheeky hooks that refuse to leave your brain, and a groove so irresistible it could make even the grumpiest Scrooge crack a smile. It’s joy bottled up in three minutes, with a sprinkling of nostalgia that feels like finding a hidden box of old ornaments in the attic. You can practically hear the twinkling lights and smell the pine needles. Chandra’s frontman describes the track as capturing “that unique transformation in people” during the holidays—when joy, kindness, and generosity are suddenly in style. And wow, does the band nail it. This isn’t just background music for cookie decorating (though it’s perfect for that too); it’s a festive call to action. Sing louder, smile bigger, and maybe, just maybe, hug your grumpy uncle at the family gathering. If this song were a movie scene, it’d be the big, heart-melting moment in The Holiday where everyone realizes love is all around. Or better yet, the grand finale of Elf when Buddy saves Christmas, and everyone’s belting out carols like their lives depend on it. It’s a sonic snow globe of happiness. With Christmas Hugs, Chandra reminds us why December feels so magical. It’s a holly-jolly bop that makes you want to dance around the living room, gift wrap everything in sight, and believe, just for a second, that this world is as wonderful as it can be.
Chandra - We Want Our Planet Back
'Chandra - We Want Our Planet Back' is a rallying cry set to riotous, riff-driven pop rock. Anthemic and unapologetically bold, this track tackles the climate crisis with the fire and fun of a rebellious garage band that knows exactly what’s at stake. Think Red Hot Chili Peppers meets Rage Against the Machine—with a tongue-in-cheek twist and a heart full of purpose. From the opening chord, the energy is electric. Chandra’s vocals cut through the fuzz like a lightning bolt, alternating between playful chants and punchy protest. The lyrics, both witty and raw, demand attention: "Sea level, polar bears, ocean deserts everywhere / Flood warning, wildfires, fossil fuels rising higher." There’s a beautiful irony at play here—the track is vibrant and even whimsical, yet its message couldn’t be more serious. It's protest pop at its finest: danceable and defiant all at once. The band mixes polished musicianship with punky exuberance. Gritty guitars, driving basslines, and explosive drums create an irresistible backdrop to Chandra’s impassioned call for action. And yet, amid the urgency, there's a message of unity and hope—"Come and sing with me" is both a lyric and an invitation to rise together. This isn’t just music; it’s movement. A reminder that even in the face of climate catastrophe, there’s still room for connection, creativity, and resistance. 'Chandra - We Want Our Planet Back' would be a perfect soundtrack addition to The Human Element, the documentary chronicling photographer James Balog’s journey through the shifting relationship between humanity and the four elements. Just like the film, Chandra’s track spotlights how human activity is rewriting nature—and insists it’s not too late to reclaim what we’ve lost. Loud, lively, and loaded with heart—Chandra delivers a sonic uprising that’s impossible to ignore. Check out Dozenz's explosive, Alt-Rock album 'Be Someone'
