Harry Kappen

Harry Kappen

Harry was born in Groningen, in the north of the Netherlands. He played in many local, primarily rock-bands and gained extensive experience in studios and during countless performances both nationally and internationally. In his younger years, Harry created music productions for Dutch radio and television, in addition to performing and recording. Later in life, he studied music therapy. As a therapist, he worked in youth care for more than 20 years and was a lecturer on an international master's program in music therapy. Partly due to his training, Harry became a multi-instrumentalist (to be able to connect effectively with his clients, both individuals and families). His plan is to continue his work as therapist in Mexico-city, on a smaller scale, alongside his music activities.

‘After the Crossing’ is his fifth album since Covid. The last four albums are available on every streaming platform ('Escape', 'Time Will Tell', 'Four', and now 'After the Crossing').

In recent years, he has received significant recognition: 2024 : Elite Music Award - songwriter of the year 2025 : IMN award - favorite impact artist and numerous nominations (f.e. ISSA Awards and Josie Awards), as well as significant public views on numerous music streaming platforms.

Harry admires many artists, including Bowie, Lennon & McCartney, Thom Yorke, Knower, Louis Cole, Motorpsycho, Jeff Beck, Prince, and many others.
They have helped inspire Harry to develop his own music and style.
