LTB skillfully navigates the intersection of genres, seamlessly integrating elements from each to create a sound uniquely his own. The production reflects a maturity in his artistry, demonstrating a nuanced understanding of musical composition and arrangement. Lyrically, "Living in Fear" by LTB is a raw and honest exploration of the human experience. The narrative engages the audience through real talk, delving into emotions and experiences that resonate universally. The song's thematic depth and relatability place it squarely in the indie music scene, where authenticity and innovation thrive. IMF got in touch with the artist to discuss his musical direction in detail: After Rewind and Slow Down, what inspired you to compose Living in Fear? Initially, I hadn't planned for "Living in Fear" to become one of my songs. When I produced the beat for it, I didn't envision myself performing on it. However, as I began to write, I realized that this song encapsulated the exact message I wanted to convey. I felt frustrated by my own fears holding me back, and I wanted to create a track that would serve as a reminder to never let that happen again. That's how "Living in Fear" came to life, and I'm incredibly proud of it. The track seems to draw inspiration from ambient pop, experimental hip-hop and electronica. Who would you consider to be your biggest influence during the songwriting process? I drew inspiration from artists like The Weeknd and James Blake for this track. Their ability to blend their voices seamlessly with powerful and ambient soundscapes has always amazed me. On the production side, the likes of Metro Boomin and Mike Dean, renowned for crafting dark and heavy instrumentals, played a significant role in shaping my vision for "Living in Fear." Walk us through your chain of thoughts as you sat to write such a compelling lyrical narrative. I vividly remember listening to the beat on repeat, as I searched for the perfect narrative. Then, the words "Been in the dark for too long" flowed from me. That instant became the core of the song, symbolizing my recognition that it was my moment to shine and that I must cease concealing my talents. "Living in Fear" stands as a reminder to both myself and others not to allow our fears to obstruct our pursuit of our dreams. Looking back at your learning curve since your debut, could you share a few tips for your followers who wish to navigate the indie music industry? My advice to fellow musicians would be not to shy away from exploring new musical horizons. Music is incredibly diverse, and there's limitless room for creativity. If you're a budding artist, don't hesitate to experiment with different sounds and genres. Also, don't let the fear of negative feedback hold you back. I, too, once worried that people might dislike my music, but I've come to understand that there's an audience for every kind of music. It's only a matter of time until you find your devoted listeners. What is next in store for LTB? Could we expect a full-length record to hit the stores soon? Excitingly, I have three tracks set to release at the end of this month. Two of them are my unique interpretations of Christmas songs, which I can't wait to share. Additionally, there's another single titled "New Year’s Resolution" accompanying them, and I'm truly thrilled to unveil all these tracks to my fans. Where can your fans catch you live in the upcoming months? The best way for my fans to track what I'm doing and what's happening with my music is to follow me on Instagram which is @ltb.music A great fit for dramas based on social hierarchy and exclusionism This track could find a fitting home in the soundtracks of dark dramas such as "Snowfall" and "Queen Sugar," which vividly portray life in black communities. The song's moody atmosphere and evocative storytelling align with the intense narratives of these shows, enhancing the emotional impact of the scenes. As an Annapolis-based artist with a penchant for emotive lyrics and unexpected beats, LTB's relocation to Nashville in the Fall of 2023 marks an exciting chapter in his music career. With influences ranging from The Weeknd to Steve Lacy, he brings a unique perspective to the music scene, and "Living in Fear" serves as a testament to his evolving artistry. As LTB continues to explore new sonic territories and captivate audiences with his compelling music, he undoubtedly stands as an artist to watch in the coming years.
