Hidden Shores - Echo Genesis

Check out Belgian digital music creator Hidden Shores' latest album, 'Echo Genesis'! The Belgian artist is a schoolteacher by day and has a masterful grasp of digital music creation tools and combines a myriad range of genres and styles in this all-encompassing, full-length album release, Echo Genesis'. It speaks intensely to the essence of the human experience through grand cinematic soundscapes built upon deeply personal yet relatable evocative themes, powerful vocals, and honest songwriting. Like the majestic, blue bird the album cover depicts, Hidden Shores invites listeners into an awe-inspiring, immersive sonic universe of their creation. We open onto 'Free Falling' with angelic grace. Soothing vocals soon begin to soar, cultivating an aura of hopeful redemption and liberation. The arrangements swell to life in the stirring chorus with powerful vocals and a mesmerizing blend of pop, electro and folk. The lyrics cry in the anguished intensity of being a dreamer, a lover, and a visionary. Emotions amplified, seeking intensified and 'free falling' through a dark, brilliant existence. A memorable opening salvo whose uplifting effects linger long after the track concludes. 'We Don't Pass It On' is a supremely important and socially relevant track. We know that each of us is in some way or another scarred by the traumas of our past. In these days of digital supremacy, where authentic, decent human exchanges feel few and far between, this track asserts the importance of remembering kindness and compassion. To not pass on the hate, anger, and resentment we see so many others perpetuating. Delivered in a groovy, electro- pop format, this feels like a track that deserves to spread far and wide. 'Breath Between The Words' is an easygoing, chillstep reflection on living. Dreamy synthlines and vocals make you forget all problems and pain, lost in a warm, heartfelt embrace of this track. 'Reine De La Glace Eternelle' or Queen of Eternal Ice is a majestic composition, sung in sultry French and paired with exquisite violin harmonies and layers. 'War For Nothing' is a rallying, razor-sharp cry to awareness, taking from one of the legendary antiwar tracks by Edwin Starr and infusing it with the power of Imagine Dragons' anthemic power. One of our favourites has to be the emotional chillstep confessional, 'Salt On My Own Wound'. The engaging pop beat tempo, dub-reggae-infused grooves, soulful Chris Martin-esque vocals and lyrics make this a deeply personal, introspective experience. Throughout the album, Hidden Shores displays an intent to explore a range of genres and emotion-packed storytelling. It speaks volumes to the artist's creative edge and range,  amplified exponentially through the use of artificial intelligence. The emotional tone throughout the album shifts with excitement but also grace, alluding to a larger story. Yet each track taps soundly into the current spectrum of human experience, leaning towards love, hope, compassion, kindness, and beyond. 'Be Strong' is a delightfully upbeat festive summer anthem. Afro-beats and an intriguing, empowering fusion of pop and tribal. 'The Stars Will Guide' is an outstanding, power-packed track radiating a positive, inclusive energy. The guitar arrangements on this track are by far the best we've heard from AI - generated music. Tracks like 'Falling Toward The Light' and 'Soul Of My Heart' boast of heavenly harmonies and soothing rhythms. Its the kind of music you'd gladly daydream or fall asleep to. The final track, 'The Coffee Machine Is Plotting' is a witty, confident outro, an anthemic, electrifying finish. Retro dance synths and pulsating beats and future-forward lyrics make for an excellent track to sign off this kalidoscopic album. If there's ever a shining example of music evolution, transcending all boundaries and barriers, 'Echo Genesis' is an album that's sure to resonate strongly. If you're seeking album to go on a journey with, take this with you!
