Downtown Patriots-Angels in the Snow
Downtown Patriots is the emotional return to music writing we all hoped for. The brainchild of Danny Watts, there are aspects to his music that make you resonate with the human nature of songwriting. What it means, and what connects and binds all of us. This is their latest single called Angels in The Snow. There is a creative burst of image making that Downtown Patriots seem to have mastered. Not only does the song immediately take you to the season, but designs the surrounding elements. Although the band’s mantra is inspired by grunge outfits like Chris Cornell and Pearl Jam, they are able to strip back the rough reality and bedazzle it with some positive charm. The reality is still bound, no doubt about it. However, the music seems to relish what our conscience holds in high regard. When the instrumentals melt away and the vocals are focused on, the lyrical explorations are exciting to listen to. They are unique, yet are reminiscent of a time we grew up with. Downtown Patriots are the emblem of change through an abstract realism that seems to be relished-for what it is. Nothing is spared as thought, yet the result is extremely thoughtful and polished. The multi-instrumental approach from Watts is another thing you will be taken away by. Every instrument is able to produce harmonics that tie to some other theme central to the song. In creating it all, we get something as beautiful as a snow angel. Balanced, an ethereal moment yet temporary in time. The album Dance Out Of the Dark is something every music fan needs to listen to, to enjoy real songwriting and melodies. This particular song would be great in Last Christmas (2019), for some romantic, yet reality embedded scenes within the movie. Listen to the song above and follow for more!
