Ben Tucker-Ben Tucker EP
Ben Tucker shows us artistic poetry through his music. This is the raw, real approach that makes people connect to melody. With his signature songwriting and balanced harmonies to make an enriching experience, he is at the top of his game. This one is almost like an introduction, welcome Ben Tucker. Opening with the heart-warming single At Your Side, Ben Tucker brings a lot of colour to this song. He changes the entire atmosphere with his baritone vocals. Background parts are minimal, instead of crowding it with the lyrical balance. As long as you’re by the side of the person that you love, it will be alright. Ben brings that very comforting feeling through the waves of melodies in this song. Don’t Go Making Me Wait Forever has the retro charm you might have always missed. From the sadness of country, to the bluesy effects they carry as well, Ben Tucker is making his first EP a worthwhile conversation. He chooses singers that tonally harmonise very well with his vocals as well. Therein comes some of the most cinematic music that he can write. This is the song that drew us to this EP, for good reason. As he writes the character, you can picture the worn out shoes and shoulders. To paint such an avid description is a great deal of imagination. Ben brings this to the song with simplicity and artful description. The marching styled beat is a good textural backdrop for the song. It represents in a way the staggering habit, how repetitive and monotonous it gets for people experiencing it alongside him. He drives us to Beavercreek after this. As a soft and emotional song, there are some brilliant slow layers to fall in love with. The acoustic and vocals have the spotlight, with strings giving additional harmonics. Ben Tucker powerfully controls his timbre like a narrator, as though he observes all this as a fly on the wall. The slow country music album has an upbeat number at the end. Ever Since She Turned My Head is the closing number. It is a catchy and cool track, making you move to the beat. There is a little more bounce in his voice for the last number, while keeping his signature baritone vocals at bay. Ben is a stellar musician, a storyteller who has a keen eye for the kind of styles and feel there is to experience. He makes sure he brings the listener the story in depth, with feeling. His album would be a perfect addition for a movie like Forever My Girl (2018). Listen to the album above, and follow Ben for more music like this!
