Telling Secrets-Tired of Waiting
Telling Secrets keeps their side of the crypt clean. The music Vik Kovacs makes isn’t for everybody, for it challenges the norms. This is a musician who has understood the fabric of a certain genre and tried to bend it to his will, almost without touching it. His style is so unique and carries grace, you’ll wonder why all his music hasn’t exploded yet. This is his latest, Tired of Waiting. A smashing, aggressive and powerful track if I know one. Take it as a movie, something like American Satan. If Chekhov’s Gun wasn’t used for the beginning of the sequence, you’d know what the energy is going to be like. Telling Secrets has the fuel and fire to make this a propulsion system unlike any other. As you can hear the riff creeping up in the intro, you know that your neck needs a mini warm-up. You can hear the Bring Me The Horizon influences in the song. The percussion is a bullet strafe, and when it meets the riff, they ballet into some dynamite sequences. Lyrics especially inspire, for they ask you to claim what is yours instead of waiting on it. Another fire wielding smoke pit with some serious damage. Telling Secrets has singles like Lullaby and Bad Dreams in the roster. This is a project that is beyond the genre, it is an indie musician’s delight. As long as Kovacs is dictating it by his own rules. I would love this in Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle (2003). The action packed movie could use some action oriented songs as well. Listen to the single above and follow for more killer music!
Telling Secrets-Fall Behind
Telling Secrets bring it, when they bring it. Vik Kovacs proved to everybody with his compositional skills that he might be the best out there in the emo rock scene in indie. His well crafted compositions create quite the buzz, making for a thunderous entry with emotional debris in your heart. It is a phenomenon, how he creates brilliant music. This is his single, Fall Behind. Sonic ocean waves kick you in the chest the moment you press play. Telling Secrets go near metal with that opening, and you’re allowed to witness the chord progression in full. It results in some enchanting soundscapes, which lasts till the verse comes in. Combining trip-hop beats with emo lyrics, here begins a build which will presumably have a magnetic reach to the chorus. The sound is immersive, while exploring the melting facade between the genres. A pulsating echo accompanies the instrumental part for the chorus. Fall Behind is the culmination of Vik Kovacs really embellishing the power of this hard rock genre. The second visit to the verse is different, the beats being traded for the punching push of the live drums. Vik gives it his all, and Telling Secrets continue to flourish with this special sound. You can listen to singles like Bad Dreams and Lullaby among others. The vision is broad, so there is a possibility for the dimensions to keep changing. This would be a perfect fit in Transformers:Age of Extinction (2014). There is a lot more to look forward to as well, so follow the band and listen to the single above!
Telling Secrets-Closer
Telling Secrets have the truth serum on the down low. This is a band powered by an individual who not only loves the genre, but proceeds to experiment with it. In my time writing reviews, Vik Kovacs has constantly surprised me with the cocktail blend of energy, emotion and vulnerability his music brings. This is the latest single, Closer. If you needed more of a Linkin Park inspired track, look no further. With this song, Telling Secrets once again successfully combines elements of electronica with rock-especially in an industrial setting. There is also a contemporary edge to the song, vocal filters changing the aura and atmosphere. The metal brings itself with all the edge as usual, a mix that might resemble Bring Me the Horizon in parts. It is the kind of attack you need to hear from indie artists, bringing all the battery with each performance. The riff complements the vocals in tandem, while creating packed headbangable moments, all captured in this treat of a song. This is Telling Secrets on the uprise, a well-kept mystery that will be everyone’s favourite summer read. Songs like Tired of Waiting and Bad Dreams are some to visit if you enjoyed this song. Vikk Kovacs is always pushing the envelope of his sound, making a parcel that many might not dare dream of. This song would be a perfect number in Resident Evil: Apocalypse (2004). This is the kind of energy that makes you believe in music with a certain fervour. Check out his single and follow him on his socials!
