Blueburst - Vanish
Blueburst is a new alt-rock band 30 years in the making with a sound that harks back to the post-punk era. The brainchild of guitarist/vocalist Craig Douglas Miller, Blueburst's music is guitar-driven and alternates between atmospheric soundscapes and pounding riffs. Collaborating with legendary musician Marty Willson-Piper, Blueburst has released its new single "Vanish". "Why are we the ones who have to care? Why don't we just vanish in thin air?", Blueburst questions. The latest release from the band is upbeat and speaks about themes of coming to terms with reality. Reverberating chorus tones on the guitar chords builds the foundation of Blueburst's iconic 80's alternative sound that they have recreated ever so beautifully decades later. "Vanish" is a standout track that showcases the band's unique sound and lyrical potential. The song starts off with a reverberating guitar line, and the energy level of the song mostly stays high throughout. The tightly woven drums and bass provide a driving rhythm that propels the song forward, while the guitars provide a range of textures, reminiscent of post-punk. Willson-Piper's contributions are especially noteworthy, adding layers of melody and harmony that give the song greater emotional depth and complexity that is often missing in modern rock. An ode to Post Punk Miller's vocals are gritty and passionate, conveying the sense of disorientation, anger and confusion that is at the heart of the song. In addition, the song presents a sense of adventure that is requisite for intense film scores. The sonic resemblance to the 80s makes it a suitable candidate for music in movies like the Back to the Future trilogy. The lyrical direction may allow for it to fit in a dramatic context in films like Good Will Hunting. "Vanish" is an impressive track. The soundtrack demonstrates Blueburst's musical talent and songwriting potential. Aside from being well-produced, it's a great blend of old and new, with a sound that is rooted in the past but still fresh and exciting. Fans of post-punk, alt-rock and classic rock will find plenty to enjoy here, and it's clear that Blueburst is a band to watch in the contemporary indie music industry.
Blueburst-Supernova
Blueburst is a melodic defibrillator, for you and the artist behind it. Craig Douglas Miller had left a musical dream far behind, but has returned to it with a newfound passion. Are we glad? You wouldn’t have a single like Vanish to obsess over otherwise. With years of experience under his belt and starting off a career in music at 50, nothing about him isn’t like a movie. This is his latest single, Supernova. A supernova is a star’s explosion. It is supposed to be a grand, blinding sight-that is what Blueburst creates. It is blues rock at the core, but it can’t be put that plainly. With a tone tempered intro that brings the colours of style and his technique, Supernova is a monster spectacle. From the drum fill that transitions into the verse chords, to how the tone has been mastered and managed, there is a lot to learn from this music. The riffs and chord changes challenge 4/4, bringing a lot of dynamic play within the song itself. In the lyrics, there are moments of self-reflection, and the resultant creative outflow, which he likens to this supernova. Just like the ones light years away, Blueburst will shine with a brilliant light, here on Earth. He might have released just another single for you to binge on, but don’t assume he’s slowing down. I was reminded of a wonderful movie called The Meyerowitz Stories (2017) with this song. It is a flame that burns brighter in the later years of life, which many write off as a dying dream. This is more than a prodigal return, it is a love letter to music and himself. Follow him for more spectacular music like this!
Blueburst-Amplify Me
Blueburst is your coveted guitar master-someone who will push the envelope. With his layered approach and catchy songwriting skills, he is always creating something fresh. All you have to do is look in the oven. The sounds that you’d like to loop all evening.Songs that remind you of a feeling. This song is one of them, it’s called Amplify Me. He might be going in a different direction with this, but changes it up quite well. The wall of guitar sound that hits transports you to another realm of tone. The opening riff tells you the simplest will always remain the most memorable. Blueburst features a more polished set of pipes for this song. Creating this magical overlap and backwash, the instrumentals feel like they are swaying. Catchy chorus elements feature the riff embellished with new tones. It cascades like a frothing waterfall-pristine but powerful. It is more than a song, a statement from this phenomenal artist. Songs from this songwriter remind you that all is not lost with live instrument music. If anything, it is being revisited to learn and create something special that people connect with again. Listen to the song on repeat, you’ll find more addictive song layers. I’d love to hear this particular one in the 2008 action film, Jumper. With cool action sequences and an enthralling storyline, this is where Blueburst creates sonic magic. Listen to his songs-Vanish, Train in Vain are my favourites. You’ll also find him featured on many playlists, so be sure to follow him!

Furthermore, it leaves us eagerly anticipating their forthcoming full-length album in Fall 2023.
Blueburst-Significance
Blueburst revisits rock and blues with a whole new love for the genre. Craig Douglas Miller had once given up on his music dream, and we sure are glad he didn’t. With some fantastic compositions gracing us, we are honoured that he started his musical career, at 50. It’s never too late to rock, and he knows this. Marty Willson-Piper on guitar, Michael Jerome on drums and Ryan Kelly on bass-this band is back with their album. This one is called Significance. Well, as much as it is for these artists, is how significant it is for us. Blueburst create some delicious melodies with an alt-rock soul, revisiting blues rock once in a while. What is centre to their project is soulful, memorable music. Vanish alone is enough to get that feel. A wondrous balance is created in the vocals and instrumentals. Effects galore, with two chord changes making it a memorable song. Production masters the tones and styles to their tailored, specific shape. Four chord change songs will welcome you as well. Executioner’s Song is just one of those singles that makes you want to play along. If you don’t know the instrument, you can at least sing along. Their lyrics are an idiosyncratic bubble of what they live through, making for some exciting tunes. Sure, ChatGPT can write, but can it write like this? When I had heard Supernova, I knew how much this band loves detail. The way the tones flow are ridiculously simple, stylish and layered to ensure the entire effect is felt. The build on songs like Senseless and Bravado are what drives me to indie bands like this. They love music so much, that they craft it like a statuette. Blueburst spend time, writing the song, perfecting it and sending out this beautiful product that we seemingly forget in some time. However, you’ll find it hard to miss the little transitions and swings that make the song perfect. Catchy grooves like Kick My Tires also keep the crowd entertained. This could be a listening party for a massive crowd, and you can imagine everyone dancing and flowing to the melodies. When Amplify Me came out as a single earlier this year, it immediately became one of my favourite riffs from an indie band. It has this mystique, signature swagger that wants you to wear your leather jacket and go on a ride. Blueburst keeps the party going with Come Alive. Quicker, punchier tracks punctuate soothing alt-rock and bluesy songs that steal your attention. The album is a reminder of the kind of fire they have to put their music out and have us enjoy it. As much as we enjoy listening to this work, they live and love music. This song list would be amazing in the TV series Entourage, along withs some other thriller and action based shows. Their album is worth enjoying for hours together, so make yourself some coffee, relax and enjoy the album with the link above! Make sure you follow them for more!
