Love Ghost-Be Not Afraid
Like Linkin Park are to many of us, Love Ghost are a voice for a generation. This is something I have said while reviewing them multiple times. I believe it more and more, as I listen to them unravel in all directions. From punk to hip-hop and R&B threads, their sonic tapestry is unlike any other bands out there. This is their latest single, Be Not Afraid. Their EP, The Speed of Dreaming has released. This is the first single from that album, soaked in the pop punk roots that they began from. They skateboard through that distorted guitar, echoing the crunch of the cassette tapes that brought people together. Vocals become an instant hook, linking to your heart as much as it does to the aggression. Love Ghost are an aural therapy session, and they should be advertised as such. They create such a powerful transitional tidal wave with their sound, it is surprising that the band hasn’t had fan exoduses come in with a new religion. Like Bring Me the Horizon, they intersplice trap beats with the rock textures to create something that has an everlasting place in the niche of your mind. Lyrically, they are appealing to many who feel the same. Like any other punk track that Love Ghost have, this one is short and sweet as well. Check out Angelic if you want to see the true range they can go to. This song would be an ideal song in Tag (2018), especially in the climax sequence, which seems to be a powerful notion in itself.
