Less is known about Intergalactic C, apart from the music. This elusive figure has chosen to create some of the best deep house and electronic music in the indie scene, all while remaining a face in the clouds. The freshest song is a single off of the album Deep House Brazil, creating a variety of soundscapes and styles that are inspired from many genres. This single is called Through the Jazzy Clouds.
The opening is an upright bass earworm that slowly makes its way in. You hear it in isolation first, your mind fabricating the percussion for it. As it is Brazil inspired, you could imagine something of a thumping vibe-which Intergalactic C nails. There are accents on the bass, really amping the count. As the layers get added, you’re sinking deeper in this cushion of trance. It is a great taster of what is to come in the widely appreciated album. It keeps your senses tingling for what its worth, and ensures you’re gripping new elements to get lost in. The production is high stakes, with layers like this it is necessary you splice them carefully. All in all, this is one of those party songs that keeps the vibe in a container you would like to revel in.
Intergalactic C has an EP called Smooth Melodies as well. The fusion of jazz with elements that are considered “purist” in music are being challenged with artists like this. The 2014 movie Eden comes to mind, creating a fresh envelope of the house movie scene and encapsulating what music like this might be experienced like.
