Jennifer Alvarado has one of the strongest and most soothing indie voices we have heard. It comes as no surprise, that the North Carolina native has serenaded so many listeners into a state of complete joy and relaxation. What she createes is an exciting reverie of melody, lyrics and strong imagery. This is her latest single, Colorado.
The soft, acoustic guitar and her powerful voice seem to be a perfect contrast. She is describing this place with wonder and a love for it which explains her gorgeous lyrics. It is an emotional ride to the chorus, which has its own ebb and flow, almost independent of how the verse builds up. If you hear any of her earlier singles, you’ll be shocked about how her range can change. From pop tracks to the tenderness of her latest song, she shows how well she can make an atmosphere for love. The Catfish singer also has this melodramatic essence in her voice that makes her tonal notations so accurate and sharp. Yet, she never loses feel in her songs. Written from the heart, it is a poetic delight.
Filthy Water, I break Things are some great hits from her, amassing more than 100k streams each. Her classical approach to not having any filter in her voice makes it all the more appealing and natural. This song would be perfect for the movie Catch and Release (1996), for the scene transitions in Colorado. Listen to this gorgeous song above and enjoy her stupefying music with the links above!
