Abnormal by Frank Bramble kicks up just the right amount of dirt, enough to give us a thrilling wave of chills. The track is a sizzling concoction of alt, pop and rock. Frank takes us on a sonic joyride that has us filled with kick drums and a little bit of magic. The song encapsulates celebration and wonder unlike any other song out there.

Bramble’s arrangement manages to stand out right from the very beginning where he hits the ground running with the drums and the vocals. The euphoric sense of wonder is very reminiscent of the flower power movement with a punk rock twist to it. Every catchy hook has you inching forward. As the intensity of the track builds you feel this sense of wonder and acceptance that “Life is messed up that is beautiful as well” spread within you. The irresistible factor is also largely because of the delicious vocals and the chord arrangements as well. Abnormal has an unshakable intensity to it and takes you through a forest full of themes, textures and sound.

Princess Diaries is one of those films that has left an everlasting mark on the world. With Abnormal punk rock leanings, it would fit so well into the film. To say that Frank Bramble has created an ear worm is underplaying this wholesomeness of the song. It’s quite exhilarating to sit in the passenger seat as he drives us down memory lane.
