Exploding Pig is a confluence of cultures that have defined music. There is a purpose and surreal combination of moments that brings their music to life. The way they simplify genres like jazz while still retaining the spirit promises an exciting experience. Here is the title of their latest single, my favourite in a long time, after their band name of course. This is Bob Marley Had a Shooting Range.Â
So they do what you would with a core essence, like Marley’s name being associated with a song. They reggae it up. Exploding Pig (insert chuckle) give us a pastry of flavours and layers based around the reggae, but very different. The groove is too deep to not acknowledge, and you’ll find yourself bobbing to the song. Arrangements transition smooth enough to sit back with your joint/edibles. As long as you’re feeling this music, go to any lengths to satiate your mellow. God knows, superb music like this always helps. This has already become their most streamed track, for good reason. Exploding Pig, you have a fan in me. Also, all these fans of wanting to experience music that transcends genres and styles to create a unique fingerprint.
You must check out singles like 6 Inch Slippers, Burt Reynolds Once Told Me and The Juice Strikes Back among others. Apart from having brilliant song titles, I feel their single would be perfect in The Nice Guys (2016). Their vibes match Shane Black’s quirky direction style, with a lot of pockets for observation. Listen to this fantastic band above and make sure you follow them for some expressive, experimental euphoria!
