You Citizen

You Citizen

You Citizen began in 2023 as a solo project by songwriter Bill McElnea. An obsessive loyalist to melody and guitar hooks, You Citizen fuses 80s/90s-influenced chord progressions with stripped down programming to create an electro-garage type feel to his songs. Tension and urgency play a central role in You Citizen's music, as do emotive lyrics that grapple with relationships, yearning and self-doubt.
