The Nightbirds

The Nightbirds

The Nightbirds are lone musical creatures from across the country who convened in the cold depths of Maine in 2025 to see what would happen if the holy groove of the collided with the unholy discordance of and a shared love–hate obsession with from . Nourished by isolation, volume, and bad instincts, what emerged was less a band than a slow, snarling collision—funk-rock muscle, punk attitude, and blues filth settling into something stubbornly alive. What emerged was less a band than a slow, snarling collision—funk-rock muscle grinding against punk ethics and blues filth, producing songs that hit hard, swing mean, and argue with themselves. They thrive in the space where groove meets guttural chaos. They are survived by Michael Scheib’s guitar and lyrics, strutting and arguing at unsafe volumes; Colin Zollo’s thumpy drums and synth, keeping a pocket you can’t escape; and Hazel’s bass of impending doom, laying down grooves that feel more like gravity than sound. The Nightbirds ask that, in lieu of flowers, listeners bring open ears, low expectations, and a tolerance for uncomfortable truths. No services will be held. The noise speaks for itself.
