Moto Perpetuo
We are four musicians and friends from Gallarate who founded the group in 1996 to explore the Jazz/Fusion genre, and we have been active ever since with the same original lineup. We started at that time performing covers of Chick Corea, Tribal Tech or Yellowjackets, without neglecting the more traditional jazz standards. After a first jazz-rock promotional live CD, we recorded in the studio in 2000 a first album of unreleased songs entitled "Rise." The second album "Coast to Coast" dates back to 2008 and ranges from progressive atmospheres to more acoustic sounds. Fifteen years after the last effort, our new album "Untitled" was released in November, 2023. Why "Untitled?" Because it is an album without a real definition, just like the genre we play. Untitled, as instrumental tracks without lyrics should be. An album named after the title track that closes the album, a track that is itself untitled. We start with"Gasoline," the first single, a rock opener that reminds us of the style of the early days. It continues with "Clave Surprise," the second single, an ethereal and more fusion track, for which we pictured an android from the future uncovering a ruined piano and releasing a glowing treble clef. The other stages of the journey are the third unreleased track of the lot ("J.J. Blues") and other tracks already released in video on our social channels since 2020, but never before included in a record work. "Irish Lullaby" is finally the new surprise version of a song from our past, enhanced by the sound of Matilde Lualdi's violins.Scratchy rock, funky, progressive with a hint of fusion, swing, delicate and introspective ballads: "Untitled" is a book with a question mark on the cover, the content of which is left to the listener's imagination.
