Kavé

Kavé is the audiovisual project of London-based musician and producer Alex Kos, creating songs written like films. Scenes, characters and dialogue are embedded into guitar-led compositions built from layered guitars, synthesisers, spoken voices and vocals. Films and visual works then extend the worlds already contained within the music, allowing each release to exist somewhere between a record and a piece of cinema. The project is set on planet Perpetua, a failed human colony in the year 2325. Marooned there, protagonist Kavé transmits mixtapes back to a technology-saturated, spiritually depleted Earth. These transmissions capture distant landscapes, scenes on Perpetua, memories and fragments of inner life, in the hope of reaching out to those still there. Musically, Kavé moves between hypnotic grooves, drifting psychedelia and cinematic soundscapes, drawing from dream-pop, progressive rock, electronic music and film scores. Each release reveals another fragment of Perpetua and another chapter in Kavé's story.
