Allen Kai-Lang Yu
Hi, my name is Allen, and Thank You for taking an interest in my music! I'm a piano composer who after over three decades of composing privately (I have been composing since high school) finally decided in 2023 to publish some of my music. In 2023, I had the pleasure of meeting a great musician and pianist Victor Morales serendipitously. I decided to collaborate with him to release some of my music, and it has been a wonderful experience. Perhaps in the future I will perform my own music, but for now, I am enjoying immersing myself collaborating with Victor and other wonderful, musicians from around the world. Regarding genre, I was trained as a classical pianist, so classical music is an anchor and has a huge influence on everything I do. Nevertheless, I do not consider myself a classical pianist per se. A central goal for me to composing is to create something new, to explore a new bath - so by definition, my work cannot be just classical. For a long time, composing has been a refuge. It is what I do - where I go - to be myself, to avoid being judged in a world that is constantly making judgements. Now that I am releasing my music, I have made a promise to myself - and you my fans - to always be true to myself and compose from the heart, as I always have.
