1JD KELLEHER
JD Kelleher is a gay, non-binary, Irish actor & singer/songwriter living in London. Their debut single, a cover of Joy Division’s ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’ became the number one rock tune of the marriage equality referendum in Ireland in 2015. JD followed this with an acclaimed debut EP ‘The Ugly Tree’ (2017.) Their second single from the EP, ‘Imagery’ also entered the Irish Top 30 songs. JD won Best Music Video 2019 at Brighton Rocks Film Festival, UK, for ‘Redeem’.
2021 kicked off with a burst of post-lockdowns positivity with ‘Give Me Light,’ the final single from ‘The Ugly Tree’ EP, with a music video filmed in County Clare, Ireland and in July 2021 JD documented London’s first Reclaim Pride protest with single and video ‘Too Much’.
An album of new songs, co-written with Spanish producer Jimmy Piñol is almost complete and includes their classic cover of the iconic gay anthem ‘Over The Rainbow’ (released in July 2023) and JD’s current single The Wings of Your Love (Oct 2023) which have become JD’s most streamed songs on Spotify to date.
