Steve Maddock-Holy Man
Steve Maddock will take you through journeys of people’s lives. A brilliant writer, this architect of music can detail the ins and outs of the protagonists of his music. Like a modern day Tom Petty, you’ll be enthralled in his creations. This is his debut single, Holy Man. What does it mean to be a devout religious in this time and age. It is a question asked often, but answered much lesser. With the finesse and style of a wise, impressive songwriter, Steve Maddock takes you through the hedges. The chord progression will make you wonder if you’re listening to late 70s ballads. It isn’t that he is cheaply trying to replicate that feeling. The choice of instruments, the way you can hear the song and overall effect ensures it. His voice is raw and real, the lyrics fall with more gravity due to his stellar performance. I don’t know the details of the recording, but it feels like he nailed it the first and last time with passion. Steve Maddock has begun his journey with a flare to stare after. You will get hooked to his storytelling, sooner than later. He is already being discovered on several playlists, and this is just the beginning of the road. What all he will bring, we don’t know. I feel this would be a perfect fit in the second season of The Sopranos. The lyrics and feel especially are tailored to the events, without giving anything away.
