latenightbeatfeast - Variance
42 h : 49 min

There is a strange portal that opens up as you listen to Variance by latenightbeatfeast; you experience the past, present, and future all at once. The artist is a one-of-a-kind musician who creates various textures of music. He works with synth and electronic beats to weave a whole universe of sounds. That is exactly what this album is; he carves out his own language of music and has made sure to punctuate it with some surprising elements.  Variance with latenightbeatfeast The artist has an adaptable sense of exploration; he works with AI to create this world, and each time you hit that play button, you seem to enter a new realm. The album begins with Varience itself. The artist is in no rush to introduce us to his world. The track creeps into your senses and moves to various depths of existence. It’s always wonderful when there is a theatre to the presentation and production of sound. The track feels like performance art in sound form.  Breathe Each track has a language of its own; for example, in Breathe, we begin to ease our senses after the journey the artist has created in this album. Even though it’s just beats created by AI, the track has an eerie sense of life to it. The track is fascinating as it has retro elements in it but is made futuristic due to the synth and electronic aspects of the song. At this moment in the song, however, we feel as though we are suspended in time. Time that is relative to this world that the artist has offered to us.  Lightning Strangely, Friday and Lightning each have their own distinct arcs in terms of songs. It makes you look back and question if the album had a structure or an arc at all. It was a wonderful experience to be pulled out of this world, almost like a whiplash. Yet Lightning seems to be the perfect end to the album. A strange sort of calibrative or contemplative mood is rather created in this song. You are left suspended in time yet again, left in swirls of questions that the artist creates.  The music on this album and many more by latenightbeatfeast is strangely amoebic in nature. With the way a few portions expand and contract in texture, we believe that it is devouring something or itself after a certain point. I could totally see songs like this in films like Contagion. There might not be life in AI, but latenightbeatfeast seems to add all the life it needs with its production treatment. It is peppered with all sorts of dramatic sensibilities that elicit emotions from us. It is both scary and exciting at the same time. I suggest you brave the storm and listen to these eerie worlds that latenightbeatfeast transports us to.
