Chayne - Don't Make Me Laugh
3 h

Chayne may be just 17, but Don’t Make Me Laugh sounds like it was made by someone who’s been effortlessly cool for decades. This song is like an eyeroll set to music, a pop-rock punch in the face of phoniness, whether from a half-hearted lover or the ever-fickle music biz. From the second those swirling guitars hit, Don’t Make Me Laugh grabs you by the collar and doesn’t let go. It’s got that early 2000s pop-rock swagger (think Avril Lavigne with a sharper bite), but Chayne keeps it fresh, throwing in her own brand of unapologetic charisma. And let’s talk about that chorus. It’s the kind that nestles into your brain and sets up camp for weeks. The basslines strut, the production snaps, and Chayne? She owns every second of it. She doesn’t just sing but commands the track, delivering every word with a smirk that dares you to doubt her. There’s confidence, there’s attitude, and most importantly, there’s a whole lot of fun. Lyrically, Don’t Make Me Laugh is a masterclass in playful cynicism. It’s the perfect soundtrack for rolling your eyes at bad excuses and fake promises. Honestly, it belongs in a movie like Easy A—the kind of track that plays when the main character finally stops taking people’s nonsense and starts calling the shots. With an album on the horizon, Chayne is making it very clear: she’s here, she’s fearless, and she’s definitely not playing by anyone’s rules. If Don’t Make Me Laugh is anything to go by, the world better get ready—because Chayne is about to take over, and she’ll do it with a smirk.
