Jacre-Only Love Could Be So Blind

When you hear Jacre in his element, it is something else. We are fortunate to hear him only in his element, for that is how his talent strives. From cinematic lyrics to an addiction to cut into every listener's soul, this musician has done it all. His mastery of this sub-genre is impressive, to create the kind of waves he does. Here, he approaches love as a romantic again, with Only Love Could Be So Blind.  Tell us the inspiration for this song. Does it come from a place of heartbreak? Or witnessing it? I was out hill walking when I had the idea of seeing things that were subtly wrong, and then linked that to a relationship I had many years ago, where I slowly realised that almost everything she'd ever told me was a lie. It was definitely heartbreaking at the time. Your style includes combining beautiful acoustic elements together. How did you create this mixture that complements your voice so much? Thank you! The beautiful production was by Dominic Romano, an amazing producer and artist in his own right. It was then mixed by Charles-Henry Volk and mastered by Philip Marsden, who both complemented the great production. Some of my original piano made it into the track, but I have Dominic to thank for the final sound.  In writing these lyrics, there is a cinematic return and reference to metaphors. How did you write the lyrics to this one? In this case, I had the start of a melody and had a single line which fitted well with it: "There's a gap on the horizon, where the stars should break the night". I then quickly decided that the end of the verse needed to be "Only love could be so blind", and it then took me a few days to write the rest, making the weirdness-in-nature a metaphor for uncovering what was wrong with the relationship. Gentle acoustic guitar and pianos create the bright canvas he uses. By looking at his album art, listening to the song gives a magical aura. It is secluding yourself to your thoughts, where the love and moment matter most. Jacre creates a dense acoustic texture that captures the feelings perfectly. It is nothing short of extraordinary, how the transitions blend perfectly into one another. His honey sweet vocals are the ballad that you always wanted to call yours. A gentle rise can be felt, but it is paced as a virtuoso would compose in his music. It is an amazing revolution to feel, when the bridge percussion comes in. You’ll feel goosebumps rise when the chorus diffuses into the horizon, just like his art suggests. Original, moving and perfect in its ability to transcend time.  Is there an EP in the works after Silent Storm? I'm actually working on an album. I'm trying to finish a new track every month or so, but I'm only putting every other one out as a single - the idea being that I will end up with enough unpublished tracks to make an album, probably in late 2025. I've currently got one other track completely finished and three others in production, so it's going pretty well at the moment. What about collaborations. You love working with artists who can reach new horizons with you. Are there any upcoming releases which are collaborations? You're right, I love doing collaborations! I've got another collab with Jon R. Mohr (with whom I created Ghost in the Rain) in production at the moment, called Silence Never Lies. I'm definitely hoping to do some more, but I haven't got any others in progress just yet. Jacre has shown his ability with songs like With You and In the Dark among others. It is his undying spirit to bring the human touch in music with this effort that is comforting. This song would be great in the movie High Fidelity (2000), where the protagonist returns to his love. It is a complex scene, and this artist captures it with class and feel. Listen to Jacre’s song above and follow him on his socials to know more! What is next for Jacre. Are you planning on touring? After my recent 18-month break, my main plan is to get back to releasing singles every 8 weeks or so, and putting my 2025 album together at the same time. I have a lung condition which makes it hard for me to tour, as I can't predict how my lung health is going to be in advance. It's a shame, because I would love to tour!
