Jakob The Liar-H E A R T B E A T
2 h : 50 min

Jakob The Liar might be a great persona name, for the titular character framing itself. To be a musician or not to be, is the question. I say music runs through this man. Composing eclectic melodies that create a fusion of many elements, you can’t put him in a box. He’ll find a way to make a beat with it. Melodies run through his blood. So maybe you can hear it in his H E A R T B E A T. That is his single, and the spaces are important. In a way, they signify the ever pulsating organ, and its constant desires. Read it as the white spaces alone, and you might understand what I mean. There is a drive, to make something worthwhile. This is why his song starts off with a literal heartbeat. Melding it into the percussion of the song, the lyrics feel like they are written in blood. There is an honesty and vulnerability to the words that have poetic pain in them. As the ink dries, you can read it for what it might be. The energy builds, and cascades into this rock number merged with the choicest of chords, flourishes and vocal runs. It is unlike anything you’ve heard before. And I’m no Liar. There was a forgotten energy in the movie Lovebirds, that was lacking with the soundtrack itself. Maybe this kind of writing and performance, might have actually acknowledged the fun-loving movie it was. There is a truth to this kind of music from Jakob The Liar that makes you tear up. Listen to his 2020 EP Crystallised in Moonshine to know what I mean. Follow him if you want music that gives you goosebumps!

Jakob The Liar - Vi@gr@ Falls & P!$$ Graffiti
3 h : 50 min

Vi@gr@ Falls & P!$$ Graffiti is a big stick it to the regime kind of song by Jakob The Liar. The track is a water slide that, twists and turns, taking you on a a whirlwind ride. Vi@gr@ Falls & P!$$ Graffiti is unlike any song out there by any standards. Jakob knows what he is doing by giving us fresh textures to experience and get lost within.  Jakob has created a track for us to immerse ourselves in, it is honestly a meditative journey. It is a treat as we allow ourselves to get carried away in this whirlwind of a track. It takes us swishing in its ocean of sounds. The track cannot be trapped within one genre. He has given us a punk-rock-rap mixture. The sound section in the song feels like pieces taken from different puzzle sets. Yet, it goes together perfectly well. He evokes a plethora of images and colours as we allow our imagination to dive into his soundscape.  The track belongs in an iconic yet mundane and elevated reality film, a film like Birdman. This cult classic is one of the few films that has the wingspan to carry a masterpiece such as this single. Jakob The Liar is a name to watch out for and trust me, you would want to follow the links attached above. Especially because you will be screaming his lyrics out loud in the coming years. Watch out for this rising star as i have no doubt that he will be making waves in the Indie music scene.

Jakob The Liar-Sunchild
4 h : 32 min

Jakob The Liar will always surprise you. His music is a cinematic chapter in many different dramas. The result takes tributaries that turn into many emotional rivers. In this particular story, you are taken into the protagonist's tale within time. This one is called Sunchild.  The opening melodies alone can treat you to liminal spaces that are psychological limbo. This composition becomes one of his best, with a lot of detail and effort. If you pay attention to the layers, there are harmonies, the core progression, lyrical brilliance all pouring in to stitch the tapestry of this song. There is an anthemic aura to the song, though it feels like a page from the journal as well. As the movements develop, you can feel the moon come closer, tides rise-till they reach an emotional crux that will leave you spellbound. The song recedes, back into the horizon as it began, just like the full circle of the story it was telling. Jakob The Liar isn’t spinning tales of lore and rich myth. This is the closest you can get to the perspective of the protagonist in question, while respecting the equilibrium, like he has done. Masterful. Songs like Crystallised in Moonshine, HEARTBEAT are some superb numbers from Jakob The Liar to experience. Each song will take you on a tangent to another planet, so be prepared for a transcendental experience. I feel Garden State (2004), would be a brilliant movie to feature this particular song. Something about Jakob’s surreal wordplay and melodies seems to channel life into the scene. Listen to his song above and follow him for more!

Jakob The Liar - Song Like You
3 h : 12 min

"Jakob The Liar - Song Like You" is an electrifying fusion of folk, pop, and rock—blurring the lines between genres while embracing the full spectrum of human emotion. It’s a triumphant love song, brimming with warmth, energy, and grandeur, marking a stark departure from themes of heartbreak and regret. Instead, Jakob revels in the thrill of finding true love, channeling it into an exhilarating sonic experience. The track’s rich arrangement is bold and unapologetic, with anthemic choruses, soaring melodies, and a striking interplay of instrumentation. Hard-hitting drums provide an unwavering heartbeat, while psychedelic keys add a dreamy, nostalgic layer. Meanwhile, a searing guitar riff guides the track’s emotional highs and lows, echoing the uncontainable rush of love’s discovery. Jakob’s sound is difficult to categorize—it’s a fearless blend of rock-flavored pop with an indie edge, uniquely his own. Yet, beneath the song’s kaleidoscopic textures and cinematic intensity lies a simple and universal truth: real love exists, but it requires effort, patience, and the courage to believe in it. Jakob’s lyrics capture this sentiment with sincerity, making "Jakob The Liar - Song Like You" not just a love song, but an ode to the beauty of commitment and connection. With its sweeping melodies and raw, heartfelt optimism, "Jakob The Liar - Song Like You" wouldn’t feel out of place in a romantic coming-of-age film. In fact, its perfect balance of nostalgia, passion, and hopeful resolve makes it an ideal soundtrack for A Lot Like Love—a film that, much like the song, celebrates the unpredictable, transformative nature of love. If you like this, we think you would love Angelica Barrera’s Lincoln Place - a poignant ballad that captures the raw emotions of love, loss, and self-realization.

Jakob The Liar - Wake up Mr. Kupferberg (Enterlude)
1 h : 29 min

Jakob The Liar’s Wake up Mr. Kupferberg (Enterlude) is a surreal, shape-shifting portal that doesn’t just open an album — it tears open a new dimension. Minimal, eerie, and steeped in shadow, this introductory track sets the tone for the wild, unpredictable terrain that follows in the full-length album Wake up Mr. Kupferberg. With its ominous, looping keys and unnerving vocal manipulations, the track feels more like a séance than a song — an invocation of something prophetic, strange, and deeply psychological. Jakob’s voice enters like a narrator from the underworld, morphing in and out of a demonic presence. It's the sonic equivalent of a dream you can’t wake up from — part oracle, part inner monologue, part horror movie villain. Then, just when you think it can’t get weirder, a robotic flight attendant voice alerts you that your boarding gate for your flight has been changed, heightening the sense that you’re not listening to an album but entering an altered reality simulation. The track would feel right at home as the intro to a psychological cyber-thriller like Mr. Robot — where lines blur between reality and delusion, and the protagonist’s internal chaos becomes the lens for systemic rebellion. As an “enterlude,” it’s a bold artistic move — abstract, unnerving, and totally engrossing. Jakob The Liar is clearly not interested in traditional storytelling or safe musical tropes. He’s constructing a sonic world, and this track is the warped gateway. It doesn't just ask you to listen — it dares you to surrender. If you’re looking for an easy listen, turn back now. But if you’re ready for the rabbit hole, Mr. Kupferberg is calling.

Jakob The Liar - Wake Up Mr. Kupferberg

Every note that Jakob The Liar comes up with has so much intention; his music could help you attain nirvana, especially his latest album, Wake Up Mr. Kupferberg. The man has a variety of music he can conjure up. Within about 20 minutes, he gives us a spectrum of genres yet maintains the spinal theme of music, which is earnestness. In this album, we can hear rock at the heart of every single, which is layered with some folk and R&B. Jakob has incredible precision in the orchestra and backing. The production on this deserves its own special article. Jakob The Liar Says Wake Up Mr. Kupferberg The album begins with an interesting intro—Wake Up Mr. Kupferberg. The track is quite a serious one; he channels his inner Beethoven with the piano notes that open the song. We then hear his voice; Jakob’s voice treads the line between the state of dream and reality; he blurs it, in fact. We go from nightmare to daydream quite quickly with the second track in the album, which is Sunchild. The track stands in stark contrast with the opening track, almost tenderly holding after that intense opener.  Vi@gr@ Falls and Pi$$ Graffiti Vi@gr@ Falls and Pi$$ Graffiti is a mirror that shows us the madness that is the world currently. Jakob unabashedly punches up in this song, throwing out a middle finger to everybody who holds power and claiming his free will to show us the truth through his art. Giving true meaning to his art is where his heart is. The singer mentions that he thrives in chaos and feels like this particular year might just be his year.  H E A R T B E A T What Jakob does brilliantly is surprise us with the many textures he can draw out of this world and into his songs. H E A R T B E A T is the perfect example of it. A Song Like You is the perfect song to end the album. The artist moves from personal to universal quite well. He opens with a universal track and ends with a personal number. The track is a dedication. This love letter in tune has a very endearing music video as well.  He not only plays with notes but also the many evocative textures that a song produces. His vocals teeter between grunge rock and pop throughout. The tracks would be perfect in a film like Kevin Can F Himself. Although the series goes more toward slapstick humour throughout; when it gets dark, it truly gets dark. The tracks has so much personality and gothic vibrancy to it; it is a magnet for anyone with an ounce of imagination. Jakob The Liar is a gem that people need to look out for. Talent like him is hard to come by and will surely make people go “Where’d he come from all of a sudden?” when in reality, he’s always been there, biding his time for when the world will truly see him, the way he so honestly sees the world.
