This track makes you feel as though you have entered a new dimension. This feeling makes you want to explore every nook and cranny of the song. Variable elicits the feeling of a new experience as you hear the dip and curves in the synth on the track. The names also help us build our experience, for example, the next track is called No Gravity Landing. This makes your imagination go wild with sound associations. Levitating Chords Levitating Chords is a mixture of sounds that can only be described as one of the most cinematic songs on this track. This dynamic track begins with sounds that ripple outwards and as it travels back inward, it crescendos. The track makes you feel as though you are in a suspenseful film. There is a serene place that Deep Dive Species creates for their listeners in their latest release- Penultimate and it needs no visa to visit. This electro-acoustic duo- Vadim Militsin and Sergey Popovich, seem to draw inspiration from nature. They have a chemistry that must be owed, the duo found each other artistically during the pandemic. They complement each other instinctually, Vadim is an electronic scene veteran and Sergey is a guitarist and vocalist. The track trickles into existence with a piano-like synth, forming a world plush with personality. The track has no vocals, just immersive music. The production quality of this song is strong enough to send shivers down your spine. I do not believe this music is made to meditate but to rather shake awake memories and imagination. The track has this fluttering quality of a siren-like sound that zooms past again and again in the distance. There are many trinkets of details like this that make this song a deep and immersive listen. Considering this track has no vocals and gives us a forest full of imagery, it gives this timeless quality to the song. There is a montage in Erin Brockovich, a montage while she reads through the many testimonies. This track would work exceptionally well in the scene owed to the calculating, formulating and pondering nature of the scene. Red Skies Mourning - Beautiful Things
Beautiful Things seems to be having its moment in the interverse and Red Skies Mourning paints new skies with this existing number. This musician-instrumentalist and singer gives us a fresh take on the song and it feels like ice on a hot summer day. While he maintains the skeletal framework of the songs, he has put more than his spin on the number. He has made it his own. The artist is a one-of-a-kind musician who creates various textures of music. He works with synth and electronic beats to weave a whole universe of sounds. That is exactly what this album is; he carves out his own language of music and has made sure to punctuate it with some surprising elements. The album begins with Varience itself. The artist is in no rush to introduce us to his world. The track creeps into your senses and moves to various depths of existence. Lightning Strangely, Friday and Lightning each have their own distinct arcs in terms of songs. It makes you look back and question if the album had a structure or an arc at all. It was a wonderful experience to be pulled out of this world, almost like a whiplash. Yet Lightning seems to be the perfect end to the album. A strange sort of calibrative or contemplative mood is rather created in this song. You are left suspended in time yet again, left in swirls of questions that the artist creates. The music on this album and many more by latenightbeatfeast is strangely amoebic in nature. With the way a few portions expand and contract in texture, we believe that it is devouring something or itself after a certain point. I could totally see songs like this in films like Contagion. There might not be life in AI, but latenightbeatfeast seems to add all the life it needs with its production treatment. It is peppered with all sorts of dramatic sensibilities that elicit emotions from us. It is both scary and exciting at the same time.
