Boabie - The Tron Symphony Finale
The Tron Symphony finale is proof that art has the capacity to surpass time itself and Boabie breaks the law of physics as he packs the past, present and future in this track
Dawn Boudreau - Every Winding Mile
Every Winding Mile makes it clear to us that there is a reason(mostly) for the madness that is life. Dawn Boudreau takes us on a mezmerising journey through the depths and valleys of emotions. The soulful country-R&B track talks about everything when it comes to being a woman with a family. The wholesome track has a few beautiful moments within the number that make it worth the listen! The song’s production is sleek, polished, bright and breezy. They have created a lush soundscape that compliments Boudreau’s silky-smooth vocals. The country elements are hard to ignore, what sets it apart is the contemporary touch with the violin and the orchestra in general. Each word she sings is imbued with a passion that can only come with experience, experience in the craft and lived experiences as well. She expertly has you walking down streets she walked in, almost as if you dawn her shoes. The immersiveness of her songs is indisputable, it gives her listeners an anchor that pulls you into her world. This quality of gentle yet strong determination is seen in Erin Brockovich. Erin leads her life with great passion but she is not blind to her disposition. Taking this into account, Every Winding Mile would be a wonderful addition to the film. This captivating new single by Dawn Boudreau has you curious about life and what it has to offer in all its mundanes and grandness. I hope you have hit the play button by now, if you haven’t then you must and if you have, hit the replay button, duh.
Kully Bath - God's Calling
Kully Bath skirts between the realms of earth and heaven as she lifts us up into paradise with God’s Calling. This latest single is most definitely a power move as this is the contemporary singer’s first release on Spotify. Bath bravely opens her heart and soul in this track, welcoming us into her world. Her velvety voice makes sure you see a whole new world. Kully quickly takes away distance between us and her right as the first note leaves her mouth. How she does this you ask? She does this with the raw energy she packs into this soul-stirring masterpiece. Kully reminds us that a person is never truly gone from our lives and that there is always a higher calling. The way she fills the room with melody, lightness and ease makes your heart open to every imagery she throws at us. There is genuine conviction that is laced into every inch. This leaves us in a state of introspection. This conviction acts as the buoy that carries us afloat from which ever realm she transports us from. As you the final notes seep in, you can feel your brain fill with so many questions, thoughts and memories. A film that truly broke me is Marley and Me, it is filled with so much earnest love and purpose. This sense of purpose Marley adds to the family and even leaves them with is very similar to God’s Calling. God’s Calling is just the song for when they say goodbye to Marley. This radiant beacon of hope requires your attention. If you're eagerly waiting for her next release as much as us, you can follow the links attached below and see what Kully Bath is up to.
Kepa Lehtinen - Suru
Music makes you the perfect traveler, with the help of a button, you can surround yourself with water. Kepa Lehtinen gives a new meaning to swift and fluid with his latest release- Suru. It’s fantastic, the imagery and feeling that a piece of music leaves behind in your body. Everything about this track is painfully beautiful. The track is wordless and yet it says so much. We begin soft and smooth with the piano. It is as if the moon has just risen and welcomes the gentle ache within our souls. The bass from the theremin adds a whole lot of depth to the track. There is a connection that the song establishes with the listeners right from the start. So much so that it feels more and more like a personal rendition as the song progresses. Words might not be enough to convey how moving the track is, it is as though the keys and the strings have become wrap themselves around the listener's diaphragm and have full control of your breath. The production on the track is nothing but perfect, every note is held for just the right amount of time is a testament to their craftsmanship. A series that has dedicated the same level of craftsmanship in every aspect is The Haunting of Bly Manor. The Haunting Of Hill House series is one of the perfect horror dramas out there. Suru would be incredibly wonderful in the second season as the whole season revolves around love, longing and letting go. Kepa Lehtinen has weaved this beautiful tapestry of sonic beats that it both warms us and leaves us with a sense of void. I urge you to listen to this and follow the links above to give more of his work a good listen.
Kvindelige Studenters Sangforening - My Soul
Before I tell you how amazing My Soul is, you need to know that Kvindelige Studenters Sangforening is one of the oldest female Choirs that is out there. This Choir is the official female choir of the University of Oslo and was founded in 1895. They have taken all that tradition and that unique sense of identity and poured it into this very special track. Everything about this track is so graceful and vast. I highly recommend that you hear this song with earphones on. They have created a 3D listening experience for us. Both the beginning and end of this song are incredibly seamless. All of it is their voice, you hear it reverberate even within the walls of your own heart. There are moments when you hear the voices echo and before you process what the voice is doing, you are hit with another layer. Every voice has its own essence that contributes to the vast architecture that the choir is building. The track is part of a larger scheme of events, their album- Magnificent which is a collaborative piece of art. Ellen Andrea Wang, Kvindelige Studenters SangforeningMarit Tøndel Bodsberg Weyde have lent their unique voices to the process of this album! The track would work incredibly well honestly, in any film, just because of its malleable texture. It exudes both a haunting and comforting feeling. If I were to place in a film it would be in Ratched. The series is shot and edited with so much care that you feel every detail fill your senses, much like the song. Kvindelige Studenters Sangforening is a band that has to make its way to your playlist, they come with their own chemistry. Words seem to do no justice to how brilliant their art is.
