Tired of Fighting-Branches
Emo punk makes landfall with a band like Tired of Fighting. With intense instrumentation and lyrics that form human bonds, the band has brought some stellar music to us in a short period of time. Though Night Dwellers has become their biggest hit, our emotions take tributaries with their latest single, Branches. This genre is a cut the shit, straight to the point elemental force of nature. Tired of Fighting make their voice known and emotion heard with this single. The three-piece band from Newcastle-Upon-Tyne bring a new kind of drama fuelled with rage and frustration-the hallmark of what generations of people now feel. As the expression gushes out like a rewarding creek, it is evident how the band can create a song in studio that can reveal their energy live. The percussion is rich and dense, leaving no hollows and delivering it tight. Distortion is balanced in the guitars to ensure it doesn’t take away all the attention. You’re face to face with their vulnerability, reaching for something that might help you form a bond. That is what the band is capable of, breaking away the cynical shelled cocoon of our morbid realities. It makes every note hit the flesh with intent, creating a wound that is worth remembering as it made you feel. A gifted and power charged band with forged wings to fly. Tired of Failing and Chocolate are some other numbers which have become my favourites. I consider this to fit in Jennifer’s Body (2009), which is full of emo hits.
